Part number 2155231 ( part # 24, on motor and ice container parts diagram) for the above mentioned Whirlpool refrigerator. Does this part attach to the ice dispenser solenoid (part # 2152713 ) ? If yes how? I just need to know where the end of the rod that goes into back of ice dispenser solenoid attaches. If you need a better description my number is 714 836 1046

Hi Jorge,
Thank you for your question. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet or turn the circuit breaker off. For this repair, you will need a quarter inch nut driver. Open the freezer door and remove the ice dispenser assembly by simply lifting it up and pulling out. When taking it out be careful of the switch at the top. You will then need to remove the quarter inch nuts from the dispenser. Once the screws are removed, you can remove the front panel. Now turn the bin over and remove the old control bin. Remove the retaining screw and twist off the metal bracket and then you can release the control arm that is hooked into the deflector. You can push it out to release it and pull out the control arm. To install the new arm, install the J side first. Hook it into the crusher housing and spin it around and hook it into the housing and lay the other end into the groove. Insert the bracket and screw it into place. Wrap the spring around and hook it to the control arm. The control arm should go up and down when you press on the control lever. Reattach the front panel to the ice bin and install it back into the refrigerator. Restore power to the refrigerator and everything should now work for you. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

On the motor and ice container part diagram. Part # 24, the end of the rod where the arrow points to the number 24. Where does that end of rod goes to? Not the “j” end that goes to the front of the dispenser, the opposite side that goes toward the rear. Close to solenoid assembly white plastic housing. Please help. 3rd time asking. Jorge picture will help!

Hi Jorge,
Thank you for your question. That part should slip into a little hole on the housing that your ice container slips inside of. Unfortunately we do not have pictures but we do have a video of the general installation that may help you: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ofxEF-Gub9s . I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
