The Door Would Not Close All The Way
Bought a replacement gasket for the Refrigerator to solve the leaking air problem. After replacing the gasket, nothing changed, so it appears the problem is the door itself, so if you have a separation between in the gasket, be sure it's the gasket and not the door itself.

Faulty Refirgerator door Gasket (Leaking)
First I went on line and found detailed instructions how to do it. I also covered the frig with a large piece of card board to keep the "cool" in to some degree. I put the new gasket in a tub of hot water. I unloaded the door. Loosed all the screws..pulled off old gasket/seal.... carefully put the new one on the door. This was tedious but okay. then I tightend the screws. Closed teh door...made adjustments ..leveled the refrigerator... checked for leaks by putting a flashlight in the frig and closing the door. I also used a dryer to help the seal form easier. awesome! Like a new refrigerator.

Door gasket deformed
Step 1: Removed door because I wanted to change the opening from left to right. Step 2: Place door on 2 saw horses and remove gasket with a nut driver. Step 3: Install new gasket. Step 4: Reinstall refrigerator and freezer doors.

I found this proceedure to be one of the easiest I have ever accomplished.

Old Gaskets Cracked
Unscrewed the old gasket (took off about 24 screws) and screwed in the new gasket. Be careful as the entire door shelf comes off when all the screws come out. Have someone hold the shelf so it won't fall during gasket removal and install.

Door seal gasket was torn and needed replacement.
First I read other repair stories which really helped. I decided to leave the door on and use a 1/4" nutdriver plus a flat blade screwdriver. I loosed the screws on one side at a time. I pulled off the old seal and replaced with the new, using the flat blade to help tuck the seal in as needed. I also had to use a hair dryer to soften the new seal at some places in order to form it properly. Overall, I had great success!

Fridge gasket leaking; Freezer tray broken tab; Icemaker tube leaking
Fridge Gasket - heated the gasket with hairdrier to reform shape from shipping. Tried loostening nuts all around, but when installing the top part first, had to remove the nuts in order to have sufficient space to install gasket. Then tightened top nuts, and proceeded to install side parts, removing the nuts as I went down. Once about half down, was able to finish installation without removing any more nuts - loosening was enough.
Freezer tray - just slide it in. The only concern was the part deminsions were not correct. They showed the tray to be about 15", while my old tray was about 12". But when the tray arrived I was thankful that the new one matched the old one - 12". The diragram needs to be corrected.
Icemaker tube - no problems.

Gasket was damaged
I removed everything from the door, and unscrewed all of the nuts. I left the door on the refrigerator, mainly because I didn't think I needed to remove it. The gasket can be put on with the door attached, but I can see where it would be easier to take the whole door off. It would be easier to position the gasket laying down. All in all, the repair went fine and the door seals much better.

The Gasket was deformed and did not fit properly.
1. I removed all screws holding the old gasket.

2. I removed the old gasket.

3. I removed and unfolded the new gasket from the shipping package.

4. I used a hair dryer to heat and straighten the gasket.

5. I installed the new gasket and secured it with the screws.

6. Some gasket deformation still remained, so I used the hair dryer again the next day to heat the gasket. Adding a small piece of cardboard behind
the gasket also helped to restore the gasket shape.

Seal was balling up at bottom of doors and frig was not shutting
First placed the gasket in warm water so it would easily stretch over the door. Took off the inside front door cover and placed gasket on (magnet side out) then placed gasket on door and reattached. Works great and your prices and time of delivery were wonderful. Thanks

Water is accumulating under the two crispers, and droplets hang from the roof of the fridge compartment. This water has to be removed daily, and i wish to know whether a leaking gasket on the fridge door is contributing to the water build-up.
For model number DRT2102AW (Amana Distinctions)

Hi David, it is possible this is caused by a faulty gasket or even bent fridge door hinge. There could also be leaking water lines. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
