The lower wash arm does not appear to be spinning. Nothing appears to be blocking its movement. How do I proceed to trouble shoot this problem?
For model number KDTM704ESS0
Hello Hugh, thank you for reaching out. Our research shows that by far the most common reason why your spray arms may not be spinning properly is the build-up of dirt and debris. Remove the dishwasher basket to freely access the spray arms and carefully clean them out. If this does not resolve the issue replace the arm. We hope this helps.

How to replace part W10860176? Lower spray arm
For model number KDTM504EPA1
Hello Tom, Thank you for the question. Under the Spray Arm there is a Nut. To remove the Lower Spray Arm turn the nut 1/4 of a turn counter clockwise. You can then lift the Arm off to replace. We hope this helps!

Is it a common issue for one arm of the lower wash arms to split along the seam and leak water around the edges rather than exiting the ports/openings at the end of the wash arm?
For model number KDTM404ESS3
Hello Jill, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, it is not uncommon for the lower wash arm of a dishwasher to split along the seam over time, especially if the dishwasher is old or if it is being subjected to heavy usage. When the wash arm splits, water can leak out around the edges instead of being directed properly through the ports or openings at the end of the wash arm. This can result in inefficient cleaning and potential water leakage in the dishwasher itself. If you are experiencing this issue, you will need to replace the spray arm, part number PS11731499. Glad to be of help!
