Replace Broken Freezer Handle
The first thing to know on this model is that the handles for the refrigerator and the freezer are identical parts. It is the plastic piece at the end of the handle that breaks. Unfortunately, they only sell the complete handle, which is a shame as it is expensive. To remove the broken Freezer Handle, use a small allen wrench to loosen the bolt on the side. The handle should then slide off easily. You may then remove the two screws at the bottom. Slide the new handle into place, and tighten the screws at the bottom first. This will ensure the handle is properly located. Then tighten the allen bolt on the sidewhile holding the handle agains the face of the freezer.

Bottom door handle broke at the top connection. The screws are still on the door side, but the plastic broke resulting in the top of the handle swinging freely. It appears the connection slides into the handle and is tightened with a screw, but the parts list only shows part 3, the entire handle for $86. The part that broke is just the connection that slides into the top of the handle, is tightened to the handle with a screw, and has two holes in it for the screws to attach to the door. Do you sell just that connection part?

Thanks for your question. We show that part number PS11703503 is the stainless handle, part number PS11757058 is the white handle, or part number PS11757059 is the black handle. The same handle is used on both the freezer and fridge doors.

The bottom of the refrigerator handle comes off. The place where the set screw screws into is stripped. Do I need to replace the handle or is there something inside that the set screw screws into?

I see that other people have had issues with their plastic piece at the top of the door handle for this refrigerator. I have replaced this 3 times. Why do they not make it as a metal piece that will not break. It seems like a lot of money to spend when it is just going to happen again and when it appears to be a manufacturing defect.
