Have oil spots on cloths after wash. Also makes loud noise on the spin cycle
For model number WSXH208A1WW
PartSelect logo
Hello and thank you for writing. When the rubber breaks down, oil and grease can make their way out of the outer tub assembly PS273277. If the watertight seals that keep the engine compartment dry fail, then that oil and grease can enter the washing machine's drum during a wash cycle. Oil doesn't mix with water, so that's why you see spots on your clean clothes. It would make this noise if the bearing of the tub has gone defective which seems to be the case here. The bearing is included in the assembly. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

Why would my tub drop 3 inches
For model number WSXH208A1WW
PartSelect logo
Hello Linda and thanks for writing. If the washer drum dropped the drive pulley might be worn out, cracked, loose or bent.or you havefaulty shock absorbers PS270563 ... If the washer is also making a loud noise in the spin cycle, the clutch assembly might be worn out. The clutch assembly makes the connection between the transmission and the inner tub.

The water pump becomes very noisy
This is the second time in the same 7 year old appliance. Remove the front bottom cover by removing 2 screws. Then remove the 2 screws holding the pump down. Then unclip the electrical wire from the pump and remove both hoses from the pump by squeezing the spring clamps with a pliers. Have a pan to collect the water that will drain from the lines. Take the new pump and install it in reverse order from above.

broken shock absorber
after pulling pins and installing new shocks, the washer still made loud ,disturbing sounds during use. Did some more investigating, turns out the inner bearings on the drum are bad. Apparently a problem with this model. Probably why the original shocks broke in the first place.
