Compressor will not start and run. Checked compressor with meter and it is not shorted out. What might cause this. thanks
For model number SMR04DAMWW
Hello Dewitt and thanks for writing.
Does the fun run?
It is most likely an electrical problem with your capacitors are like mini jump starts for the various motors in your system. ... Each motor has its own capacitor and if one of them is not working, then it usually means that the motor won't run. This can affect the compressor and not the fan. Good luck with your repair.

I removed the one screw holding cover in place contained the thermostat . Next , I removed the thermostat from the plastic housing. NO screws, it just clippped in. I replaced the old with the new and reinstalled the cover. 2 minutes max. Sears said the part was obsolete but Partselect had what I needed.
