What is the gray tray on the front of the top rack for? Sometimes i have found my detergent cube in it partially disolved. Why is this happening?

Hi Bev, Thank you for your question. We have checked the parts list for your model and we do not see a tray that would sit in the front of your upper dishrack. We do show a handle that would attach to the front dishrack. If this is where you find the soap after a wash cycle, there are some things you will need to check. First, before starting a wash cycle, run the hot water in the sink for a few minutes so it it is nice an hot when you start the dishwasher. If the water is not hot, then the soap will not dissolve. Also check for any obstructions that would prevent the soap from falling onto the floor of the dishwasher. If the handle is preventing the soap from falling to the floor, make sure the upper dishrack is pushed in as far as it can go. Also, check and see if there are any clogs in the spray arms and circulation pump. If water is not circulating correctly, then the water will not spray out and dissolve the soap. You should also check to see if the dishwasher is filling with the correct amount of water. Open the door 2 minutes after you have started a wash cycle to see if there is water in the bottom of your dishwasher. If there is no water, then there is an issue with the water inlet valve and it will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!

The plastic clip on the roller broke
We let this go for a shameful amount of time before I decided I could probably fix it. The roller broke so you could only pull it out about halfway or it would come off the track. I looked up the part, and bought it. Actually bought two in case it happened again. When I arrived I looked at how it was put together on the other side and then just basically pushed it onto the rod and it was fixed. I am ashamed it took so long to do it. Never be afraid to try it yourself. It was a total of $10 shipped to fix it.

The valve allowed water to fill the dishwasher when not in use.
This was the third time I replaced a fill valve in a Bosch diswasher, twice in this unit and once in a previous unit. I read the installation hints on your web site and want to add the following suggestion.

The notes on your web site say you can remove the valve from behind the toe face and pull it out to reach the hose and plug. I found that the Bosch designers called for both the hose and wire to on the short side. I found that pulling the dishwasher forward 6" to 9" allows you to access these connections from the side at least to hold them while making the connection. I hope this helps. Thank you, Bill
