Good Day Cristine. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number PHP900DM2BB). This could be the result of the touch panel control board detecting food or water on the touch key panel. We first recommend cleaning the panel. If the code persists when the key panel is clean, you may need to replace the replace the Touch Panel Control Board (PartSelect Number PS2321525). You can order this part either online at our website www.PartSelect.com or by calling us by phone at 888-260-4310. Best Regards.

I’m looking at buying a used stovetop and both the 8in burners don’t work Would it be both the burners are bad or is there a controller the connects to both the burners that could be bad?

Hi Andrew,
Thank you for your question. If the 8 inch burners are not working, the issue may be with either the burners, the touch control, or the wiring between the parts. You will need to inspect these parts to see which one is causing the issue. We have included a link that you may reference on how to check some of these parts. If the touch control shows any signs of damage, scorching or burn marks, it will need to be replaced. The touch control has been discontinued and if it needs to be replaced, you will need to contact GE. Their telephone number is 1-800-626-2005. If they provide you with a part number for a replacement touch control, please let us know and we will verify if we carry it. Once you have determined the part you need, please feel free to call customer service. We are open 7 days a week and anyone will be happy to assist you. We look forward to hearing from you!
We just purchased a house and the previous owners just replaced the cooktop. Last night it was working just fine, then a loud 'pop' and then smoke. I hope I don't need to replace the entire cooktop.....just parts within. Any thoughts? Thanks
