The dryer doesn't heat when used normally but will heat up and dry the clothes if more heat is selected

Hi Tony. I would try the thermal cut off kit PS334299. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!
Can I detach the door and reattach it so it opens from the opposite side? I see where hinges and catches can be changed out. But the door would have to be turned upside down and then it wouldn't fit the shape of the hole in the body of the dryer. Can the inner panel of the door (with the curved seal on it) be unscrewed and turned to make this work? Are there instructions anywhere? Thanks!
For model number NED4700YQ1
Hello Sylvia, thank you for contacting us. You can use the following instructions to reverse your dryer door:
1. Place a towel on top of the dryer to protect the surface.
2. Open the dryer door. Remove the bottom screws from the cabinet side of the hinges. Loosen (do not remove) the top screws from the cabinet side of the hinges.
3. Lift the door until the top screws in the cabinet are in a large part of the hinge slot. Pull the door forward off the screws. Set the door (handle side up) on top of the dryer. Remove the top screws from the cabinet.
4. Remove screws attaching hinges to the door.
5. Remove screws at the top, bottom, and side of the door (4 screws). Hold the door over the towel on the dryer, grasp the sides of the outer door, and gently lift it to separate it from the inner door. Do not pry apart with a putty knife. Do not pull on the door seal or plastic door catches.
6. Be certain to keep the cardboard spacer centered between doors. Reattach the outer door panel to the inner door panel so the handle is on the side where the hinges were just removed.
7. Attach door hinges to the dryer door so that the larger hole is at the bottom of the hinge.
8. Remove the door strike from the cabinet. Use a small, flat-blade screwdriver to gently remove 4 hinge hole plugs on the left side of the cabinet. Insert plugs into hinge holes on the right side of the cabinet.
9. Insert screws into the bottom holes on the left side of the cabinet. Tighten screws halfway. Position the door so the large end of the door hinge slot is over the screws. Slide the door up so the screws are in the bottom of the slots. Tighten screws. Insert and tighten the top screws in the hinges
10. Remove the door strike plug. Insert the door strike you removed in Step 8 into the hole and secure it with a screw. Insert the door strike plug into the original door strike hole and secure it with a screw.
11. Close the door and check that the door strike aligns with the door catch. If it is needed, slide the door catch left or right within the slot to adjust alignment.

First tried heating element and thermal fuse with no luck. Ordered thermal cutoff and fixed problem. Had I used an ohm meter first I would have determined problem before having ordered heating element and fuse, as both had resistance. I wast just lazy and ordered the took the most common failed components first before taking dryer back off.
I ordered all the thermal sensors for the dryer. They arrived two days later and they were the correct parts. It took me about 1/2 hour to replace all three sensors and now the dryer works like new again. My wife was very pleased, so was I.
