Bottom freezer frosting up
For model number MFI2569VEM1
Hello Mary, thank you for your question. If your frost-free freezer has frost buildup, particularly around the evaporator, there may be an issue with the defrost thermostat. You can test the functionality of the defrost thermostat using a multi-meter; it should have continuity when at freezing temperatures and should be open circuit when the temperature is above 37 degrees Fahrenheit. A lack of continuity means your thermostat will not power the heater. Part number PS11743689. You should also check the gasket for leaks or damage. If the frost is specific to one area, that is likely where the gasket leak is. Replace the gasket if you find any cracks or damage. Part number (Grey) PS11757265. (White) PS11754807 (Black) PS11754715. We hope this helps.
Hello Jack, Thank you for your inquiry. We have researched the model number you have provided and there could be several reasons why the freezer drawer is stuck. Check first for any obstructions inside the drawer by gently pull the drawer open as far back as you can and rock it from side to side to try and nudge any obstructions. If it is frozen shut, and will not open, there is likely moisture that has frozen inside the freezer that is preventing the drawer from opening. defrost the fridge by unplugging the refrigerator and allow the freezer to defrost. This can take about 24-48 hours. Once it has defrosted, see if you can open the freezer and wipe any moisture dry, especially the rails the drawer sits on. It could be the drawer gears, the slide rails or the brackets. If it is the side rails or door slides, try using a food grade lubricant such as paraffin wax or pure mineral oil to try and loosen the drawer to pull it out and replace the rails. We hope this helps.

Pressed in the end of the filter cover, lowered it down part way. Twisted the old filter 1/4 turn and removed it. Set in the sink to drain. Inserted new filter and twisted it to lock. closed cover. Done. Total time @ 1 Minute.
I knew the chances of all the freon leaking out was unlikely so I looked at the wiring to the compressor and there was a capacitor and a starter/overload so i figured I would start there. I went on line and found the parts at this site and they were less than the minimum service call charge for a service tech so I figured what the heck let's give her a shot so I did give it a shot. I ordered the parts and they were there in less time than a service tech could come out and i installed the parts and guess what for 90.00 in parts and 15 minutes in time I repaired my refrigerator. Thanks guys, It took less time to order the parts than it did to make the repair so thanks, your website rocks and is very well designed so my hat is off to you guys!
Removed the fruit & veggie drawers & the deli (pantry) drawer. Took out the 3 screws, removed the attached parts, put them on the replacement part, reattached it and put the drawers back in.
Here's the part I want to share: PartSelect had a expanded diagram showing the correct part and sufficiently detailed to figure out the repair before the part arrived. That's why I ordered from them. Secondly, I ordered the part Thursday morning--and the thing was sitting on my porch when I came back in from my evening out Saturday--2 days later!!!
