Hi John, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description that you have provided, we would recommend checking the cycling thermostat, part number PS11741405, as it is the most likely cause of this issue. If it is faulty, you may need to replace it. We hope this solves your problem!
Dryer is not drying clothes as well as first purchased. Do I need a new heating element, do I need a dryer cycling thermostat, do I need a thermal cut off kit, do I need dryer high limit thermostat?
For model number MEDC200XW2
Hello Gordon, thank you for the question. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest checking the vents for any clogging. If this is not the issue, we would recommend replacing the cycling thermostat, part number PS11741405, to solve the problem. It monitors and regulates the temperature inside the dryer. Glad to be of help!
First tried heating element and thermal fuse with no luck. Ordered thermal cutoff and fixed problem. Had I used an ohm meter first I would have determined problem before having ordered heating element and fuse, as both had resistance. I wast just lazy and ordered the took the most common failed components first before taking dryer back off.
I ordered all the thermal sensors for the dryer. They arrived two days later and they were the correct parts. It took me about 1/2 hour to replace all three sensors and now the dryer works like new again. My wife was very pleased, so was I.
