Ice maker doesn't work, the tray is on the empty position and will not flip.
For model number LRMVS3006S
Hi, thank you for reaching out. Probably the best thing to do is determine if the ice maker is not cycling and calling for water, or if water is not actually making it to the ice maker from your valve. First, make sure the ice compartment is below 10 degrees because the ice maker will not cycle if the temperature in the ice compartment is over 10 degrees. Next, fill up the ice maker with a cup of water, and wait 24 hours to see if it cycles and dumps the ice. If it does not cycle, replace the ice maker assembly, part number PS12724823, because it is just bad and needs to be replaced. Good luck with your repair!
Removed ice dispenser and display with small screwdriver from front of the fridge. Pried out the whole piece slowly. This exposed the motor that activates the chute. Plugged in the new motor before any removal to verify the motor was the problem. When it worked, removed old and installed new. 3 screws. Piece of cake.
I replaced the whole self-contained unit. I removed the old ice bin simply by lifting it out of the door and replacing it with a new one directly under the ice maker. It was a simple fix; no tools or service tech were required.
