First history: Coils do not defrost. When we hear a popping or knocking noise. We remove the back panel check the coils for ice build up. We remove the ice with warm air and the noise goes away until the next ice build up. Just did the procedure and the noise continues, but quieter and less frequent. Any suggestions? is the compressor failing?

Hello Roger, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest replacing the defrost thermostat, part number PS11750673, to solve the problem. It protects the evaporator from overheating during the defrost cycle. We hope that helps!
Lifted the front up onto a scrap 2x4 to get it off the ground and it had 1 bolt that you removed to get the old item off and replace with new assymbly and 1 bolt to re attach. This sat broke for over a year becuase I thought it would be alot harder to fix, found the part on parts select ordered it recieved it in approx 2 days and had it fixed in less than 15 minutes. I would recommend parts select to anyone who told me that they had a appliance broken. Thanks
removed flap door in front of icemaker...removed 3 screws with bolt heads...removed one additional screw with bolt head and ice unit slid out. I removed motor unit (pops out no screws). Replaced and had ice within 3 hours.
Remove the icemaker service door... gently pry the door pins from the hinge sockets. Remove the 3 screws from the under side of the icemaker with a nut driver (1/4"). Gently remove the icemaker . It's a tight fit between the top of the compartment and the icemaker lower support tray. Next, disconnect the electrical connector at the right side. You're done! Reverse procedure for installing. Good luck. Remember, your working with cold plastic...take your time and don't force too much.
