what could be the problems when both led lights in the freezer do not light up when opening the door
For model number KRSC703HPS00
Hello Bev, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, the issue is most probably with the rocker switch, part number PS12731166. It turns on the light when you open the door. You may need to replace it to solve the problem. Glad to be of help!
When I open the freezer door, the light in the ice dispenser comes on. I can only assume that the door switch works OK. However both interior lights in the freezer do not. They are both led built-ins. At first the ceiling light would flicker a bit and then go off. Now it does not light at all. The side light just does not come on.
What could be the potential problems?
Also how do you remove those LED light fixtures?
For model number KRSC703HPS00
Hi Serge, thank you for your question! Based on the description, the issue is with the led light control board, part number PS12349553. It manages the operation of the interior LED lights. You may need to replace the light board to fix the issue. To remove the light board, use a putty knife to detach the tabs to release the led light board. Then disconnect the wire connector to fully remove it. We hope this information is useful!
I used a flat-head screwdriver to pop out the old light rocker switch. Then, I unplugged the wires, plugged them into the new light rocker switch, and then popped the new switch into the hole. That's it! Lights began working again.
I used a flat screwdriver and released the lock tab on the bottom of the light switch, and pried the switch out, being careful to not damage the plastic around the mounting place of the switch, unplugged wiring from old switch, plugged in the new one and pushed the new switch into place. Job finished light switch now working.
An easy job for smaller hands. Removed the two bolts holding the light cover. Removed two electrical connections from the old switch by pinching the retaining clip, removed the switch, snapped in the new one and re-attached the connectors. Your online illustrations helped me to know that the plastic housing for the light switch would only swing down so far and was not intended to be removed. Saved me from breaking that plastic cover's tabs. This home repair saved me more than 5 times the cost of hiring a professional to do it. Very happy homeowner.
