how do you change the lights?
For model number KHHC2090SWH1
Hello Donna, thank you for reaching out. Your model comes with two types of lights: the cooktop lights and the cavity light. The cooktop lights are located on the underside of the microwave oven and consist of two 10W low-voltage halogen capsule bulbs. They can easily be replaced using the following instructions:
1. Unplug the microwave oven or disconnect the power.
2. Remove the bulb cover mounting screw and gently open the cover.
3. Remove the burned-out bulb.
4. Replace the bulb, using a tissue or clean cotton gloves to handle the bulb. Do not touch the bulb with your bare fingers.
5. Close the bulb cover and replace the mounting screw.
6. Plug in the microwave oven or reconnect the power.
The cavity light bulb is located under the vent screen on the top of the microwave oven and is a 10W low-voltage halogen capsule bulb. It will automatically come on when the door is opened and when the microwave oven is operating. You can easily replace it using the following instructions:
1. Unplug the microwave oven or disconnect the power.
2. Gently pull the vent screen rings and lift the screen off the exhaust vent at the top of the microwave oven.
If using recirculating exhaust venting, skip Step 3.
3. For wall or roof venting, remove the vent deflector by removing the mounting screws and lifting out the vent deflector.
4. Remove the bulb cover mounting screw, then lift the cover.
5. Remove the burned-out bulb by squeezing the wire clips together, pulling to the right, and lifting.
6. Replace the bulb, using tissue or clean cotton gloves to handle the bulb. Do not touch the bulb with your bare fingers.
7. Close the bulb cover and fasten it with a screw. If using recirculating exhaust venting, skip Step 8.
8. For wall or roof venting, replace the vent deflector removed in Step 3.
9. Replace the vent screen.
10. Plug in the microwave oven or reconnect the power.
We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

There was no "fixing" per say but we still could not use the microwave without the plate. This has to be one of the biggest plates for a microwave. We ordered this through your company and we had it three days later. THREE DAYS! We had expected anywhere from 1-2 weeks. My husband was so impressed he bookmarked your site for future reference. Thank you for being so efficient and prompt. The glass turntable fit like a glove! Sincerely, Mark and Lia Hammond
By pulling the filter screens units down and out with a pair of pliers I had access to the surface lights. Pulled the lights out of their sockets and replaced the bulbs. Real easy. Since the filter units were out, replaced the filters and reinstalled the filter units. The whole operation took less than 15 minutes.
Remove the filters and use a Torx driver to remove two screws holding the motor. The wires on on the motor are held in place by a plastic clamp that must be pried open on one side. That's all it takes to replace the drive motor. Everything else that makes the turntable spin lifts off from inside the microwave.
