Igniter problem on one gas burner
I had to remove the two separate components of the gas burner unit, each had two screws. I lifted then tilted the lower portion of the burner unit to allow access to the underside of the igniter. I removed the wire and then with an offset screwdriver I removed the single screw that held the igniter in place. I reversed the steps to install the replacement, very quick fix.

I was also very pleased with how quickly the order was processed and the part was delivered, only three or four days with standard shipping.

one of the cooktop burners would not ignite
removed knobs, burnners, top cover plate, disconnecte two gas lines from burnners to controls, lifted burnner bar, unscrewed igniter, installed new ingiter, and then reassembled cooktop. There was a total of ten screws removed, and two gas lines disconnected. The total repair time was about twenty minutes. I ordered the part on line and it was at my home in less than 48 hours. Happy ending the cooktop works great, and the repair cost only equaled the cost of the part.

Original burner grates had deteriorated and two side burner grates and the center grates were replaced.
The burner grates for the KitchenAid range are no longer available from KitchenAid. Other burner grates available in PartSelect were a like-kind fit. Installation was easy--just replace the burner grates.

Burner knob appeared to have been accidentally melted by placing a hot pot on top of it.
I took the melted knob off, located the part # went online and found this site. I immediately found the correct burner knob, ordered it, and it came very quickly to my home! I just popped it right on the cooktop, and it's as good as new.

no spark on surface of gas stove
repair failed; after much difficulty in accessing the small bolts that hold the 'spark igniters' in place; rear two were more accessible, front two proved impossible. Next step, invest in a new slide-in stove. The repair was a dad guess on my part; although designers often consider repair as a non-option, -sad but true.

Missing regulator when floor model gas cooktop was purchased
1. Apply gas pipe joint sealer to treaded nipple on bottom of cooktop; 2. Install regulator on nipple with regulator direction arrow pointing to top of cooktop; 3. Tighten but do not overtighten as it may crack the aluminum body regulator; 4. Make sure the face of the regulator with the green painted surface faces the outside of the cabinet; 5. Get a new gas flex hose to connect to gas pipe (got mine at Lowe's - 2 feet long with all the right fittings for about $15). 6. Follow instructions on gas flex hose - make sure you use gas pipe joint sealer only where indicated; 7. Turn gas shutoff valve back on and test for leaks using soapy water; 8. Turn on each cooktop burner to bleed out air.
