Our refrigerator model listed above gets too cold. The recommended setting is 38 degrees and if we set it there, almost everything inside can freeze. This seems to happen whether the fridge is full or mostly empty.
The fridge is forming ice inside the housing that the filter snaps into so we aren’t getting water to flow through to the spigot inside the fridge.

Hello June, thank you for your question. When you are having temperature problems in your fridge, there are a couple of parts that could cause the issue. You can use a multi meter to test these parts. Make sure you cut power to your appliance before doing any repairs or tests. First, you should check your defrost heater, part number: PS11723183. Remove it from the appliance. It should be reading anywhere between 0 - 50 ohms to be working. Then, you could check your temperature sensor, part number: PS2580944. To find the correct reading for this part you will have to refer to your tech sheet that comes with your appliance. You can usually find this tech sheet behind the bottom grille of your fridge on either the right or left side. These are the most common parts that cause this issue in your appliance. So, it is suggested you check them first. We hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
Pressed in the end of the filter cover, lowered it down part way. Twisted the old filter 1/4 turn and removed it. Set in the sink to drain. Inserted new filter and twisted it to lock. closed cover. Done. Total time @ 1 Minute.
Removed the fruit & veggie drawers & the deli (pantry) drawer. Took out the 3 screws, removed the attached parts, put them on the replacement part, reattached it and put the drawers back in.
Here's the part I want to share: PartSelect had a expanded diagram showing the correct part and sufficiently detailed to figure out the repair before the part arrived. That's why I ordered from them. Secondly, I ordered the part Thursday morning--and the thing was sitting on my porch when I came back in from my evening out Saturday--2 days later!!!
Remove food off of lower shelf, remove the two produce drawers, remove large lower drawer, remove glass shelf, remove three screws holding end cap in place. Once end cap was removed the drawer track could be removed and placed on new end cap. Installation of new end cap took less than 5 minutes. Most of the time spent was removing/replacing food and cleaning the shelf/bins. PartSelect was awesome BTW!
