Hi Stan, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, the issue is most probably with the spark module, part number PS952858. You may need to replace the spark module to fix the issue. We are providing you with instructions that will help you replace the spark module.
1- Remove the grate from the burner.
2- Remove the burner from the cooktop.
3- Use a putty knife to remove the old spark module.
4- Remove the wire connector and hold the wire.
5- Connect the wire with the new spark module.
We hope this helps!
Unpllug the cooktop and turn off the gas supply. Remove the grates and burners.(they just lift out). Using a torx screwdriver, remove all the torx screws below where the burners sit. There are three screws per burner, except the power burner which has only two screws. Genly lift the stainless steel cooktop, separating it from the rest of the enclosure. Hold the electrodes with one hand, while gently twisting and pulling the wire connector off. Now, remove the aluminum covered foam piece. You will now have acess to the wiring harness assembly. Disconnect the quick connectors and replace with the new assembly. Re-assemble in the reverse order and you're done. About 1.5 to 2 hours. Good Luck
A rubber grate foot on my range top had worn out. I pulled the worn foot out and installed the new grate foot with no tools or accessories. Good as new! Now I don't have to worry about the grate scraping my range top and scratching the paint. I also ordered extras so I won't have to wait if another wears out.
