The machine will not cycle. It just stays on washing. What could possibly be done?
For model number HTW200ASK1WW
PartSelect logo
Hello Judy and thank you for writing. If your washing machine is stuck on one continuous cycle and will not advance and forward to the next wash cycle, then most likely the washer timer is faulty and needs replacement. The timer on your washing machine controls all aspects of the wash, spin, and rinse cycle. However, this part has been discontinued for your model and is no longer available. We have no known replacement information in our system. We recommend you contact the manufacturer of the part to see if they have recently released a new substitute. We do carry related parts for units just like yours. For example, part number PS12582957. Good luck with your repair.

How and when do I add fabric softener?
For model number HTW200ASK1WW
PartSelect logo
Hi Dale. You add fabric softener to the dispenser on some models. I would look at page 14 of the manual. Make sure the dispenser is securely attached to the agitator. There is a agitator cap that fits onto the top of the agitator. Use liquid diluted fabric softener pouring into the dispenser. Add water until it reaches the maximum fill line. Then select the deep rinse option. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

Our hot point washer model above. Water runs in the machine, it don't stay in it drains same as it flows. There is a harness unhooked on the back of the machine. I can't figure out where it goes that consists of a red, yellow and purple wire and also a Green and yellow stripped wire with a metal prong that is unhooked as well.

Hello Christopher, Thank you for the question. If the Washer Fills and Drains at the same time it is normally caused by the Siphon effect. We suggest making sure you have the Anti-Siphon Clip, PartSelect Number PS271098. Also your washing machine drain hose is pushed way too far into the stand pipe in the wall. There needs to be an air gap and by having the drain pipe pushed too far there is no air gap. This creates a vacuum or siphoning affect and the water is pulled out of the washer as it fills with water. What you need to do is pull the drain hose out of the stand pipe and put it back in making sure it is not in the wall too far or too deep. There needs to be a bend at the apex of the drain hose. It needs to be above the height of the wash tub. We hope this helps.

How do I manually drain my drum? It's full of water and wont drain on any cycles.
For model number HTW200ASK1WW
PartSelect logo
Hello Opallina, Thank you for the question. If the drum will not drain when you turn the knob to the drain cycle you can unhook the drain hose from the wall or outlet the washer will drain into. With a large bucket at the ready, hold the hose up in the air until you’re ready to fill the bucket; once you lower the end of the hose below the water level of the water in the basin, gravity will cause the water to flow out. We hope this helps.

seems to me it's not spinning fast enough. After spin cycle clothes still have enough water in them to wring out by hand

Hi Rick, Thank you for your question. If the washer spins slowly, we recommend checking the belt. We hope this helps!

Would not drain the water from the tub.
Very simple to repair. Be sure to drain the tub outside or into the sump pump then lay the washer on its side. The pump is right there on the bottom of the basket with 3 bolts. You will also need to remove the belt cover to get to the plug. So simple and saves you hundreds off repair man prices.
