How do you replace the door springs
For model number GDF520PSD0SS
Good Day Dustin. Thank you for your question in regards to your unit (Model Number GDF520PSD0SS). Based on our research, we have found the following steps that should help you replace the door springs: 1) To replace a door spring on your dishwasher, you will need to uninstall the appliance first. 2) To do this, turn off the power to your dishwasher and shut off the water supply valve. 3) Use a quarter inch socket or nut driver to remove the screws securing the lower access panel. 4) Remove the panel along with any insulation. 5) Use channel lock pliers to help unthread the water supply line fitting from the inlet valve 6) Be prepared for some water to spill. 7) Next, use a 5/16 inch socket or nut driver to unthread the screw securing the junction box cover. 8) Pull the cover off. 9) Note the location of the wires then untwist the wire nuts to disconnect the wires. 10) unthread the strain relief nut and detach the strain relief from the junction box. 11) Next, disconnect the drain hose from the sink or garbage disposer and feed it through the cabinet. 12) Open the dishwasher door and remove the mounting bracket screws. 13) to move the dishwasher, you may need to adjust the legs to lower the appliance. 15) Now, to avoid damage very carefully pull the dishwasher away from the cabinet. 16) Use pliers to help detach the door cable from the hinge and detach the cable from the old spring. 17) Remove the old spring. 18) Install the new door spring by hooking one end onto the mounting screw. 19) Now attach the door cable to the other end. 20) Align the cable on the pulley then reattach it to the hinge. 21) Make sure the end of the drain hose is accessible through the cabinet wall then gently slide the dishwasher back into the cabinet. 22) Adjust the leveling legs if necessary. 23) Replace the screws to secure the mounting brackets to the cabinet or countertop. 24) Feed the drain hose through the cabinet and connect it to the sink drain or disposer. 25) Make sure the hoses elevate it above the connection point. 26) Fully position the wire strain relief in the junction box and secure the strain relief nut. 27) Connect the wires using the wire nuts. 28) Align the cover and replace the screw to secure. 29) Reconnect the water supply line to the inlet valve. 30) Replace any insulation. 31) Reposition the lower access panel and secure it with the screws. 32) With the repair completed turn the water supply back on as well as the power and your dishwasher should be ready for use. We hope this helps! Best Regards.

I changed, tub gasket, gasket, seal the leak is under the right side of the door.
I also don't know if there should be water in the flood switch area when I unload the dishwasher, or isn't. Can't figure what the problem is.

Hello Josef, thank you for contacting us. We have concluded that the issue is with the flood switch, part number PS8690623. A faulty flood switch will cause the washer to overfill and thus leak. We would recommend replacing it to fix the issue. Glad to be of help!
So can you tell me why the dishes do not dry on any of the settings? I didn't change the flood switch, and it no longer leaks, just doesn't dry. Can it be a sump pump gasket?
I noticed the conduit main has a very small hole near to the upper spray arm is locates. Please advise

Hi Josef, thank you for contacting us. Based on our research, we have concluded that the issue is with the heating element, part number PS16729156. It heats the water during the dishwashing cycle and helps dry the dishes at the end of the cycle. We would recommend replacing the heating element to fix the issue. Glad to be of help!

For model number GDF520PSD0SS
Hi Lou, Thank you for the question. Here are some installation instruction. First removed the 2 screws at the bottom of the door. Open the door all the way and pulled the door back on the hinges until you can pull out the bottom gasket. Slide the new gasket back in place and pushed the door back down on hinges and replace the 2 screws. We hope this helps!

Took off the kickplate, diconnected the wires and removed the whole door by lifting straight up, removing spring wires from hinges. Once door is disconnected from the machine, removed one hinge by removing bolt. Slid gasket into place, secured hinge back in place, then reconnected wires at bottom, replaced hinge spring wires and slid door back down onto hinges. Now that we know how to do it, could do it in 15 min to half hour.
We tried cleaning out the filter and it clogged with a huge amount of gunk. We removed the gunk, scrubbed the filter, and tried running the dishwasher, but still no water. That took over an hour (not counting the time the dishwasher spent running). Then we tried your diagnosis center and it pointed to the flood switch or the water valve. I extracted the flood switch (another 30-60 minutes) to check it, and it also contained gunk and (significantly) did not rattle, which made me suspect the flood switch was the problem, so I ordered one. Once the replacement arrived, I checked it and the flood switch rattled, confirming that it should work properly. I spent 30-45 minutes installing it, plus the filter assembly and racks I had to remove to access it. Ran the dishwasher and everything came out sparkling clean. I don't know where the gunk came from, but if you aren't getting water and the filter is full of gunk, check the flood switch.
1. Turn off breaker supplying power to dishwasher in electrical panel 2. Open dishwasher door 3. Unscrew the screws that secure the dishwasher to the counter. 4. Tip dishwasher forward. Identify the non-functioning door latch. It looks exactly like the replacement. Unclip the wire harness from the door latch. 5. On the inside of the dishwasher, there are 2 screws directly under the door latch. Unscrew them and carefully set aside. 6. Remove old door latch. 7. Set new door latch in place. Holding securely, replace screws removed in step 5. Toward the end they get a little tougher to screw in. 8. Plug wire harness into new door latch. 9. Re-align dishwasher and re-secure to counter in previous position. 10. Test latch to make sure it closes properly. 11. Turn on breaker in electrical panel. The dishwasher should now function properly.
