Our Frigidaire microwave stopped working yesterday. I want to try replacing the fuse, but I can’t find where it is located. Can you help?
For model number FMV156DCB
Hello Allen, thank you for getting in touch. We have researched and found that the thermal fuse, part number PS11724148, is located behind the control panel. You may need to remove the control panel to access it. We hope this helps!
I first removed the top plate above the microwave door (3 screws), then I removed the plate containing the buttons and clock. The microwave has 3 relay switches and they are in a little holder. The holder was too difficult to remove so I just removed the bottom switch and replaced. The microwave started right up.
Removed the retaining clip that keeps the door on, took the door off. Removed the plastic rim that is clipped into place. Removed old screws holding on handle and replaced.
Part arrived in one day. Old part snapped right out and new snapped right in. One minute repair with no more sparking and no need to invest in a new microwave... which is what I thought I was going to have to do.
