Does the turn table roller guide self attach to the motor when you place the guide over the hole? Or is there a piece that sticks up from the hole which attaches to the roller guide? The above model number is what is on the microwave. however, when looking it up the “y” is not part of the number found.

Hi Randy, there is just motor PS979515, bush PS2343052 and guide PS2343051. There are no additional pieces that are a part of the process. Installing should be simple. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

I want to replace the door open lever, but after removing the trim piece, it isn't obvious how to get the control panel off - no screws...does it just slide or pop off. Not anxious to ruin the microwave for an inexpensive repair.

Hi Steven, thank you for asking. We have found that first, you may have to remove the top cover of the microwave. Then, you may need to unthread the screw securing the control panel. The screw can be found on the top back of the control panel. After removing the screw, unclip the wires, open the door, and pull the control panel out. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Hi Melissa, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the issue is probably with the door switch. We recommend you replace it. There are two door switches in your model. The part numbers for the door switches are PS8769124, and PS3409702. Check both the parts and replace the faulty one. We hope this solves your problem.

Timer would run but the microwave won't start
I first removed the top plate above the microwave door (3 screws), then I removed the plate containing the buttons and clock. The microwave has 3 relay switches and they are in a little holder. The holder was too difficult to remove so I just removed the bottom switch and replaced. The microwave started right up.

microwave wouldn't turn on but timer worked.
was told buy a repair person to check the door micro switches as it was a common problem. removed the top plastic air grill to get access to the screw that holds in place the control cover. After unplugging the unit, i took out the (2) screws that held in the switches and removed them (3). One switch was a bit melted so i tested it with a 12 volt battery and it was bad. Ordered a new one from Part select and got it fast . Works great .
