My oven wont heat up. What could be wrong?
For model number FGB24L2ASA
PartSelect logo
Hi Amanda, thank you for your question. There are a few parts that could cause this issue in your appliance. First I would say test your elements with a multi meter to see if they are working correctly or not. They should be reading between 0 - 50 ohms to be working correctly. The other part you should check would be your oven temperature sensor. That can also be tested with a multi meter and should be reading between 1000 - 1100 ohms. If those three parts are fine however, then the issue may be in your control board. Good luck with your repair.

When I turn on the oven it takes some time before it comes on and it smell gas continually. What is your recommendation?
For model number FGB24L2ASA
PartSelect logo
Hello Abdol, Thank you for the question. This is normally caused by a weak Glow Bar Igniter. It should draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps or produce 3.2 to 3.6 VAC at the oven safety valve terminals while the igniter is glowing. You can test the igniter with a multimeter to determine if it is defective. The flat glow bar igniter is in the back of your gas oven. You will need to remove the access panel on the back of your oven to disconnect the igniter. Be sure that the gas source to the oven is shut off before you begin this repair. We hope this helps!

F1 signal, what does mean?
For model number FGB24L2ASA
PartSelect logo
Hi Linda, Thank you for your question. The F1 error code means that there is an electronics failure within the oven. This failure can occur within the keypad itself, the electronic oven control or the oven temperature sensor. For your model, the keypad and the electronic control board are one part. The error may also occur if the oven thermostat overheats, as the sensors in the oven cannot calibrate correctly when the thermostat is not functioning properly. The error can also indicate that you have a faulty electronic control board. Try pressing the cancel button to see if this will remove the error code. If it goes away, reset the oven to its previous settings. If the error code remains, cut the power to the wall oven for 5 minutes. If the error code returns after restoring power to the oven, there is an issue with the electronic control board and it will need to be replaced. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

Oven not heating to desired temperature
Replaced clock control by removing surface burner control knobs and plastic nuts, and then the cover over the oven control. Two screw hold the clock in place, after removal and disconnecting the plug-in you can reinstall the new clock control. The Heat Sensor inside the oven will also need to be replaced. It is located inside the oven and attached with two screws; the back of the oven will need to be removed to unplug. Reverse removal procedure and turn the power back on to the stove.

Oven light receptacle broken - bulb base broke off
Turned power off at electrical panel. Pulled oven away from wall. Removed back cover (6 screws), then unplugged wires from old receptacle. I had to pull the squeeze clips backwards & break them to remove the old receptacle - couldn't squeeze them enough to remove them otherwise. The old receptacle came out through the inside of the oven, and the new one snapped in easily from inside the oven as well. Replaced wiring, installed new bulb, restored power & tested. Replaced back cover. Good time to vacuum under/behind where the oven usually lives before sliding it back to the wall.
