Hi, does this unit have a defrost timer and if so which parts number is it? Symptoms look like a defrost timer.

Hello William, thank you for a very interesting question. Your model uses the reed switch, located at the bottom of the freezer, to turn the light on or off. The reed switch detects whether the door is open or shut with the help of the magnet. When the door is shut, the magnet, attached at the bottom of the door frame, is moved close to the reed switch and forces the reeds apart, turning the light off. When the door opens, the magnet moves away from the reed switch, turning the light on. We hope this information is useful!

If front light is blinking what does that indicate
Hi Graeme, thank you for the question. A blinking front light usually indicates a high-temperature warning, meaning the internal temperature has risen above the safe freezing threshold. Make sure the door is tightly closed and no ice or food packaging blocks the seal. Open and close the freezer door, or unplug the unit for 2 to 5 minutes to power-cycle the control board. Vacuum or brush away dust from the condenser coils at the bottom or back to help the compressor run efficiently. We hope this solves your problem!

Bought a new upright freezer. Love it but I made sure to get a model that has options to adjust the shelves. Then I bought a new shelf with clips. I felt there was too much room between the shelves as it came from the store. That would just result in stacking packages and too easy to lose what wa

I just moved the middle shelves up and down to create enough space for another shelf. Worked out beautifully
so not to disrupt items on the shelves we purchased an extra shelf so we could flash freeze items on a baking sheet after they are frozen then placed in a seal meal bags the items won't stick together the extra shelf allows you about 3 inches of space for a backing sheet
