turn washer on it's side. dampers are visible from underneath. use needle nose pliers to "pinch" end of retaining pin and pull pin out. it will take some force to remove. i would recommend replacing all 3 as i had one that had a mounting tab broken off. i then realized the other dampers were bad. there should be resistance in the up and down motion. if not replace.
The spider repair and the tub seal replacement are fairly complicated, and time-consuming, but manageable with patience. I viewed the youtube video that showed the process, which gave me confidence. It entails disassembling the machine and removing quite a few major pieces. Take care with the numerous screws and bolts, and be patient and you can be successful. Plan a lot of time for all the steps. The hardest part is putting the door bellows back on.
