how would i know if the thermal fuse on the front panel is my problem on whirlpool dishwasher?
For model number DU945PWPQ0
Hi Donna, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding of the issue, we would suggest you check the thermal fuse, part number PS382828, for continuity. Using a digital multimeter rotate the dial to the lowest setting of resistance. Then, use one probe to touch one of the appliance terminals, and the other probe to touch the other terminal. If the reading is zero Ohms then the fuse has continuity. If the display doesn’t change then there is no continuity. The absence of continuity means the fuse has blown out and needs replacement. We hope this information helps!
Where is the filter for this dishwasher so I can clean it
For model number DU945PWPQ0
Hi Jane,
Thank you for your question. The filter for your dishwasher part of the motor and pump assembly and it is located under the lower spray arm. To access the filter, you will need to remove the lower spray arm. We hope this helps!
Removed spray arm thumb nut. Removed spray arm. replaced worn and broken earings and re-assembled in reverse order. Would have done the repair a lot sooner if I had known that PartsSelect was just a few miles up the highway.
Installed new door seal. Dishwasher still leaked. Googled the model number and then cleaned the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher, still leaked. Verified that manifold bearing was not work. It was OK. Found note that a plugged vent might cause leaking door. Very counterintuitive. Pried off air vent cover. Vent was thouroughly plugged with calcium deposts from steam. Cleaned these out. Dishwasher no longer leaks.
