Breaker trips when i shut the door
For model number CPBM3077RFB
PartSelect logo
Hello, thank you for the great question. When an appliance such as a microwave oven repeatedly trips the circuit breaker, it's overloading the electrical circuit, which is rated to handle a finite number of amps. If too many items are plugged into the same circuit that the microwave oven is on, it can cause an overload. It could also be caused by a misaligned door on the microwave oven itself. When the door is misaligned, the interlocks switches in the holes where the "hooks" on the door go don't activate in the right sequence and the circuits breaker trips or the microwave's internal fuse blows. This, surprisingly, is actually a feature. It is existent to prevent you from operating it with a damaged or misaligned door so you don't expose yourself to potentially harmful levels of microwaves. We hope this helps!

I have had this microwave for 7 years and has worked great, most recently I received a shock from it and now it has now power. I checked circuit breaker it is OK so I am thinking it is the fuse where is that located?

Hi Trent, thank you for reaching out. On the right side of your model, there is a control panel, and behind the control panel, there is a vent grill. The fuse, part number PS12071294, is located behind the vent grill on the noise filter. If this does not help, please check the PC board, part number PS12074924. We hope this information helps!

Microwave tripped circuit breaker when turned on
Remove vent cover then remove touch screen control panel. When you remove control panel take photo of where everything is plugged in then unplug and remove control panel. 3 door switches located next to door in a plastic chassis. Test each switch with current tester. Remove the bad switch and replace with the new one. You tube DIY helped.

Power would not come on, would trip breaker when connected.
First thing I dir was search YouTube for any related videos and found this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHj4H9Fdxrc, it was the exact problem my microwave was exhibiting. Once I verified the problem by troubleshooting, I removed the part and verified that the switches were working fine, the door latch assembly showed signs of wear which was the cause of the problem. After receiving the replacement part I installed it, verified that power was restored to the unit and reassembled the microwave, works fine, hope it lasts a long time!

Thermostat bad....but couldn't fix it
My grandfather who is well versed as an electrician checked my microwave out because it wasn't worked. He used a multimeter to check electric current to parts in the microwave. He said a specific thermostat was not getting any current going through. I ordered that replacement part from this site and when it came in it didn't have current running through it either. He said he thought the part that was given to me was faulty. I called this companies number to ask some questions but the machine said they aren't taking any inquiry calls because of the pandemic right now. So I currently don't know what the problem is with my microwave. I want to return the part but unfortunately during Christmas time the packaging got thrown away. So as of right now I'm out the part money and probably money to buy a new appliance.
