Oven will not heat above about 350f. Takes forever to come to even that temp. Occasional, scary 'blow torch' sounds from oven. Was advised to replace the gas pressure regulator. Did so, and now the blow torch begins every time, almost as soon as the oven is turned on. How could i have made the situation worse by replacing this part? is there some other cause? igniter, maybe?

Hello Grady, thank you for writing. Heat resistance igniters can lose resistance as they get hot over time and won't send enough resistance to the gas valve to allow the main valve to come on. The Oven Burner Igniter is PartSelect Number PS12071409. Good luck with your repair.

Oven takes forever to come to temp, if it goes to temp. Temp is unstable and raises/drops up to 100 degrees or more randomly while set to bake. Does not seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it holds temp or for how long.

Safety valve would not open
I am an HVAC tech by trade so it wasn't difficult to diagnose problem with safety valve. The hard part was being without an oven for a week. Repair was simple and effective--oven works good as new.
Shut off gas and unplugged oven. Removed floor of oven between broiler and bake section, used wrenches to disconnect gas line from safety valve in back of oven, used philipps head screwdriver to remove burner assembly and gas valve, reversed process to replace. Checked out operation--OK.

Range would not come on
Turned off power, took back off stove removed old probe.
I had to splice wires since new probe ends did not match up.
the instructions were to splice the wires. I had the breaker off for about 3 hours. this is not in the instructions, but being a widow, I had to ask a few people why it would not come on after I connected the wires.
After waiting, I turned the breaker on and my range came back on.

Cracked oven door inner glass
Repair was quite easy, as long as you have the instructions for removing the door. The screws that hold the bottom of the door to the fixed hinge are placed into the side of the hinge assembly after removal; this holds the door at a 45 degree angle for easy removal. After that, just place the door on a flat surface and dismantle the door from the inside. The inner glass is contained in a metal frame with another piece of glass; this frame comes apart easily using the clips in each side. The door assembles easily after the glass is replaced; just take your time and give yourself enough room to lay out the parts as you go. Good luck!
