I could not as the spring was too large and did not fit. Calls to Parts Select were not very useful as I described the problem and was told that that was the correct part, even though I supplied photos. Rather than research the problem, I was told to call LG. Not exactly the response I expected from an authorized distributor. By the way, LG service said to call an authorized distributor, so round and round I go Please help.
Initially the wrong spring was sent. The coiled spring must have COUNTERCLOCKWISE wind for this refrigerator door. A spring with a clockwise wind was initially sent. Partselect very promptly and efficiently corrected the problem at their expense. For this reason I give them a strong recommendation. View their instructions on youtube.
