My ice maker just stopped producing ice, the the motor functions on the unit and the water still pumps from the door. I am not sure as where too go now with it.
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Kevin, thank you for your question. If the icemaker is not working the issue would be with the icemaker or the water valve port that feeds water to the icemaker. We would recommend testing the valve, and if faulty replace that part. If the valve port is working the icemaker would have to be replaced. I hope this helps!

Water dripping from ice maker into the ice bin, freezing all the cubes together. Does the whole ice maker need replaced?
Chris Boyle Profile
Hello Julie, thank you for reaching out. If your refrigerator’s ice maker drips water into the ice bin and freezes the cubes together, the water inlet valve may be failing to shut off completely, allowing excess water to enter the ice maker after filling. Replacing the faulty water inlet valve, part number WPW10312696, can help stop the dripping and prevent the ice cubes from freezing into a solid clump. We hope this solves your problem!

Freezer does not defrost. Fridge too warm.Heating element has continuity, circulating fan works.Drain not plugged. Temperature sensor in fridge - the higher the temp it is reading the lower its resistance gets.Is this how it is supposed to work. If not what is the part number for the temp sensor(thermistor) in this model? Thanks
Chris Boyle Profile
Hi Ostap, Thank you for your question. The part number listed for the thermistor is PS2580944. From our website, if a sensor becomes damaged or defective it may incorrectly signal the control board to turn off the compressor and fans and result in warmer than normal fresh food and freezer temperatures. To test the thermistor, begin by unplugging your refrigerator, then remove the back panel of your refrigerator to locate the main control board. The thermistor should be connected to the main control board. Remove the thermistor from the appliance in order to test them. Before testing it, you will need to place the thermistor in ice water for 5 minutes in order to bring the temperature to 32°F. The thermistor will produce different readings at different temperatures, and the suggested ranges below only apply to thermistors at a temperature of 32°F. With the probes on the terminals and your multi-meter set to Rx1, you should receive a reading of 16,600 ohms (+/- 5 percent). If you receive a reading outside this range, you will need a replacement temperature sensor or thermistor. If you would like to place an order for it, you may order it either online or by calling our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

Please note I had to remove the complete old wire harness from and install the new proper one as my part number was replaced with a new part number. The new ice maker repair kit comes with 2 new harnesses each slightly different one for a 22 cubic foot model the other for the 25cf model. It looks intimidating initially, just take pictures FIRST BEFORE removing old harness to see all the connections. I was surprised this was necessary but it is, as the 'H" pin on the front of the new ice maker motor was different from my old one. Would have only taken me 15 minutes or so to replace the old ice maker but with having to remove the old harness and re-route the new harness it will take you a bit of time and patience but you can do it. Another note you will have to remove the Electromagnet to get to the green grounding screw on the ice maker itself. There are good videos on Part Select and youtube showing how to remove the ice maker itself, but did not find one on the wire harness, like I said just take lots of good pictures showing all the connection points on the old harness and take your time. It was not too hard. And now I have ice again!
