This is an authentic Craftsman replacement part, sourced from the original manufacturer for use with trimmers. The metal blade is used to cut excess trimming line to prevent damage to the grass deflector shield. This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with Craftsman electric trimmers. The spring sits between the spool and cutting head rivet. This spring provides tension to allow line to be fed when the head is bumped against the ground. The spring is sold individually, please see model diagram for additional parts.
