What is the F40 code on my dryer?
For model number 11067086600
Hey Korey, thank you for your inquiry. We have researched your model and found that the F40 error code indicates a communication failure between the main machine control board and the motor control board for the blower motor on the dryer. This can be caused by a loose wiring connection, blown thermal fuse, part number PS11741444, as well as a bad thermostat, part number PS11746740, that is causing the dryer to overheat. We recommend you change Electronic Control Board, part number PS11748355. We hope this helps. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Thanks again for your great question.
After a few years of slamming the dryer door (at least that is what my husband says), the catch on the dryer door broke. Using pliers (I used needle nose) squeeze the outer edges of the catch together (vertically). With it compressed, it should slide out easily. My husband had jacked with ours prior to the repair, so the broken piece in the door was actually sideways and would not fit through the hole. Using a screwdriver, I pushed that piece into the door (it lives in the door somewhere now). I was then able to slide out the rest of the old catch. Compress the new catch and insert it into the hole in the door. Push it in until it clicks into place. DONE! Happy Drying!
Found this site by googling, and it works! I searched lint filters and just ordered based on how it looked...LOL! Husband wasn't home, it looked pretty much like the one I had in my hand, so.... I ordered it. It is the perfect fit and seems to have a tighter gasket glued in all around the screen. Let's hope this one lasts longer than 6 months! Thank you Parts Select for being so fast!! Filter got here in less than 48 hrs.!
