Washer started loud squeaking noise at the end spin cycle. Son thought it might be the drive belt. When he took the belt off he said it looked streched Got a new belt put on and ran two smaller loads of clothes, On second load heard noise from under the machine. The new belt had started coming apart. Bad belt?? Then I noticed the drum looked like it was setting lower in the machine with water and clothes inside . Now we are thinking that it may need the suspension rod set . Definitely confusing. Can you help us decide what part or parts we need in order to fix the problem. Thanks

Hello Patricia, thank you for getting in touch. Based on the description that you have provided, the issue is most probably with the suspension rods, part number PS12347546. It supports the washer tub and keeps it stable during unbalanced loads. Due to unbalancing, the belt can come apart. You may need to replace the suspension rods to fix the issue. Using normal cycle with second rinse "on" and fabric softener "on". When do you manually add fabric softener? Does the machine beep when it is time to add softener? Have heard the machine beep when it was ew but have not heard it beep in a long time.-thanks

Washers Tangled, Twisted, Knotted Clothes. Tangled, twisted or knotted clothes are usually a result of improper sorting of wash loads. ... Avoid putting too many or too few items in the washer. Does all but spin out ..when it gets to spin the agitator spins rapidly and drum cannot keep up like its slipping..have inspected all the drive parts underneath and all look good..is there something else between agitator and drum in form of clutch or is it all controlled from underneath? also i ordered new gears and drive belt assembly already should be here sat.

Well, first investigated and found loose nut on drive clutch. First take off the two screws with nut drive then cover off using a screwdriver blade to snap off the cover. Then socket ratchet to take off the nut on drive clutch. take off belt by slowly rotating the drive gear. two screws that hold the electronics to the upper drive clutch and put aside, so you can snap off the cover for drive clutch on upper part with screwdriver and off the parts come and install whole unit back as took it apart. Line up the new upper clutch so that is position as was before. (Using parts diagram helps a lot as www. partsselect.com has for you or Maytag.com.) Then put the electronic part board back on and the gear and nut. Make sure it is tight by several attempts to make sure it's snugged up good and then slowly roll belt back on the pulley and motor drive. Put your cover guard back on with two screws and done.
