Frozen water inlet valve that burst
Removed the old valve after disconnecting the drain, water line and electric connection to get to the spot of the leak. Valve was easy to reinstall to power and filler tube, as were the hard connection to power and the drain, but when it came to aligning the copper water line to the valve with a compression fitting under the machine, it was impossible to get the alignment correct with the fine threads on the compression fitting. I loosened the valve from the frame and then was easily able to thread the compression fitting to the valve and then put the holding screw on the valve back in place. That knowledge would have saved me half the installation time and a lot of frustration trying to get the compression fitting to thread!

Top Spinner fell off during wash cycle
Read comments on-line here. Then removed both drawers, removed one screw from top filler tube. Gently pulled tube down just enough to remove small "button", after first putting a cloth over entire bottom of dishwasher to catch it if it, or screw, fell. Button goes in "pointy side" down. Squeezed new spinner onto button until it "popped" on. Replaced top screw, drawers and ran a load. Worked perfectly. Button was worn out. Would be nice if only button could be purchased.

Converted Front Panel and Control Panel from Biscuit to Stainless/Black
Once I was able to determine that the front panel in biscuit color could be replaced with a stainless steel one I ordered the part. Then, I ordered a black control panel to match the stainless steel front panel(biscuit did not look as good as black with the stainless front panel). Unfortunately, the control panel received was damaged but the excellent customer service team rectified the issue in minutes and I had a new part the next business day. Once all was received, it took about 20 minutes to install both the front panel and the new control panel.

DW door would not close and "catch"
Model was not on websites, so I guessed at similar model and parts - they were wrong. So I took DW door apart and got part numbers that I re-ordered. The returned parts were promptly credited !! The new parts worked with 2 or 3 tries. Helpful hint on web was that someone found only one spring on the side of the handle - obviously puts uneven strain on the handle that broke. So I installed 2 springs. So - no more KitchenAid for me - the door springs are next to go - but thanks PartSelect

Balance line snapped
1. Removed front panel. 2. Backed out retaining screws at top. 3. Backed up leveling feet. 4. Pulled out dishwasher but seemed tight so stopped not wanting to break electrical or water line. Made very short space in which to work. Insulation batting was binding at top between DW and counter opening so tended to bunch up. 5. Spring at rear had flown off, so had to reattach while not being able to see. 6. Spring and new line were very tight so grabbed line with channel pliers just ahead of spring to get enough slack to get line over guide wheel. 7. Moved DW back into place and reattached with screws. 8. Had to play with leveling feet to get gap the same on each side of DW and cabinet opening. 9. Reattached lower front panel. 10. It has worked great.

Dishwasher handle broke
After getting the correct model number (is it a 0 or an O, 1 or an l, S or a 5, B or an 8?), it was simple enough to look up the part. Did not figure out until after the fact that I needed 2 springs and thought the handle might come with them. Ordered the springs after. Easy to pop in the handle and the springs. The drawings provided by Part Select went a long way in identifying the proper parts and ordering them.

Dishes were not getting clean
Our Kitchen Aid dishwasher was not getting the dishes clean so I went on line looking for a fix that did not include replacing the dishwasher. Found the Parts Select website, read a few of the comments and ordered the pump / motor assembly. Following the steps of others, I turned off the dishwasher at the breaker panel and disconnected the power. I found it easier to disconnect the water feed and drain under the sink rather than under the dishwasher. The dishwasher was held in place with 2 screws at the top, It came out easily. Warning: have towels handy as the water in the drain, inlet and housing will come out with the removal of the dishwasher. I did have to remove the upper spray assembly, easy, to remove the motor / pump assy. the assembly is held in by three plastic clips. When these are removed, the assembly pulls out through the inside of the dishwasher. Replacement was simple, just reverse the steps in removal. Be careful to center the pump / motor assembly. Having done this once, I would probably leave the dishwasher in place and change out the pump / motor assembly.

a green light was blinking above the "heated dry" button. It wouldn't go off and I could not restart the dishwasher. I took it that this meant that I should replace the electronic copntrol card . I did and it worked.
I followed the directions already on your site. They worked perfectly. It was easy. The only trick was that I needed a Starz driver bit to remove the screws holding the panel in place. Luckily I had the right one.

Dishwasher made loud noise and leaked a lot of water
Replaced the Pump Motor and Housing Assembly. Generally the video did very well in showing what to do. However, it underrated the difficulty of getting the assembly to fit properly and seal in place. The clamps to secure it were difficult, but eventually got it through about 5 repeated attempts. Now after first us, it is working well.
