All Installation Instructions for Microwave MVH350SS

Microwave would not cook

All the electrics worked on Amana microwave EXCEPT for the cooking function. Inspected the control board and found the upper switch on the door interlock was burnt. Installed new switch in minutes and everything now works fine. Unfortunately, had to purchase expensive two switch "kit" although only one switch was kaput. PartsSelect mailing was SUPER fast. Turntable roller guide broke

Pulled out broken roller guide, replaced it with new one. It was just that easy.

Microwave failed to head and light, fan, and turntable failed to come on.

Problem was due to a faulty door switch. Replaced with a new switch and the microwave now works fine! Only thing that was tricky was that LG uses the hex screws with a peg in the middle to keep the microwave cover on. Had to use a small screwdriver and pliers (on the screwdriver) to unscrew the screws.

House wiring failure caused excessive voltage to microwave

Disassembled control panel and checked power transformer windings. Primary winding fried. Patched power to magnatron transformer to make sure it was ok. Removed power transformer and checked diodes and transistors on board which were ok. Installed new transformer and reassembled control panel to microwave. Checked functions.

Needed a new bulb under the microwave.

After unplugging the microwave and removing the screw, I removed the old bulb and put in the new one!! I made sure it was in securely and the difference in the light was awesome! I use this light when I bake bread and let it rise inside the microwave, but DO NOT turn it on. The heat from this light helps the bread to rise properly!!

burnt out light bulb

The problem I have with changing the bulb is my microwave is an overhead one and therefore I cannot tip it on its side to easily replace the bulb. I have to drop the lid down and carefully install the new bulb from underneath.
