How to replace a dryer's drum guides:
Replacing a dryer drum glide
A dryer's drum glides are essentially in the same spot on every dryer, regardless of a dryer's brand. Drum glides are installed on the front bulkhead, either at the top, or at the bottom. In order to gain access to your dryer's drum glides, you will have to open your dryer's cabinet. Depending on your model, you may only need to open the front cabinet. If you haven't done so already, open your dryer now. See the link below if you need directions. When you examine your drum glides, you may notice that they actually aren't really that worn. You may be tempted to reassemble your dryer without even replacing the glides. Rest assured that changing them now, even if they don't seem all that worn to you, will greatly guard against future problems. If you decide to replace your dryer's drum glides, take note of how they are held in place. In some dryers, drum glides are held in place with screws. In other dryers, they are held in place with rivets that need to be drilled out. In others still, the drum glides slide in under slits. Discard the used drum glides and replace with new ones. Reassemble your dryer in the same manner you disassembled it. Restore power to your dryer and run it through a cycle to make sure it is working as it should. | |||
