Fuse for a dishwasher that wouldn't turn on
When our dishwasher stopped working mid-cycle, we checked on YouTube to see if there was anything we could do. There was - replace the thermal fuse was the most likely fix. I ordered the part, it came promptly, we replaced, and the dishwasher is working again! Many thanks for great service.

Easy ordering and prompt delivery!
When our dishwasher suddenly was without power we googled possible causes. Replacing the thermal fuse was the suggested fix. I looked up the part number in our manual and searched online for a Canadian supplier. I called the PartSelect 800# to be sure the warehouse was shipping as we were in the midst of the COVID lockdown. I was assured that the part was in stock and would be shipped immediately. I was advised that if it was not the correct part it could be returned for a full refund. We received the part within 2 business days and an email was sent with a helpful video to guide installation!. It worked! We saved a couple of hundred bucks I am sure by tackling this ourselves!

No power to dishwasher.
Unplug the dishwasher. Simply removed 8 screws on the inside of the door, removed the interior door panel. Next popped of the plastic protective electrical panel cover. Locate the Thermal fuse that had simple instructions provided. Removed the fuse and replaced the harness. Put everything back together. Plugged dishwasher back into electrical outlet...Dishwasher resumed with the cycle that the dishwasher was in when the fuse blew. Simple, Fast AND Reliable!!!

The machine just quit in the middle of a cycle and there were no lights on the control panel
There were eight of the star head screws to remove to take the front off the dishwasher, then just followed the instructions that came with the part, which was a thermal fuse and the new wiring that accompanied the fuse in the order. The hardest part was getting the old wire out of the harness with the other three, but once I figured that out just slid the new wire into place and made the connections. I reinserted the screws, turned the power on and knock on wood shes still working.

When we push any button the light comes on for that selection, but when we the push start button it will not start the dishwasher. Any suggestions?
For model number 66515762000
Hello Dan,
The thermal fuse and harness should be tested with a multimeter for continuity and replaced if it is not showing continuity, as that is the most common reason for the dishwasher not starting.
It is also worth testing the door switch (part number PS358749) for continuity and replacing it if it is not showing continuity, as that can prevent the dishwasher from starting as well.
Only if the prior two parts are testing for continuity should consider replacing the electronic control board itself, part number PS11746115.
I hope this helps.

Replaced the fuse and it worked and finished cycle. The second wash it stopped again. Got another fuse and it worked for half of the cycle. What would cause a thermal fuse to continue to blow?
For model number DU945PWPQ0
Hi Mary Beth, Thank you for the question. When changing the fuse always use a new wiring harness. If the harness is not changed it will blow the fuse again. Hope this helps!

Kenmore dishwasher......select option on control panel....push on button....immediately shuts off panel. is this the thermal fuse problem? or control panel?
For model number 66515822000
Hi Richard, Thank you for the question. In this case I suggest replacing the Electronic Control Board,PartSelect Number PS11746115. The thermal fuse would need to be replaced if the appliance worked but had no display. Hope this helps!

The only lights that come on are cancel, and heavy and normal. The heavy and normal come on at times and blink when i press and hold cancel for a few seconds. Then when i press cancel again they all go off. I press normal then both normal and heavy come on and stay lit (doesn't happen when just heavy is pressed). When i press start the lights go off. Press and hold cancel and heavy and normal start blinking, and when i let go they all stay lit. Press start and the cancel button stays lit and the heavy and normal turn off. Then hold cancel and the heavy and normal start blinking again, as in the second sentence. I replaced the main control board with a new one and get the exact same sequence of events.
For model number DU945PWSQ0
Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. If you've already replaced the main control board, I would check the control panel and touchpad assembly. Hope this helps!

Hello Jim, Thank you for the question. We suggest replacing both parts at the same time. Normally if one blows it is an indication there is a issue with the other. Hope this helps!

My husband replaced fuse a few months ago. It quick working again and now replaced a fuse and it worked for one load but second load it stopped before dispensing detergent. Water not drained. He didn’t replace the electrical that came with it. Could that be the problem?
For model number DU945PWPQO
Hello Mary, Thank you for the question. Yes, the electrical should also be replaced for proper operation of the fuse. Good luck with the repair!
