START LIGHT WOULD JUST BLINK AND WOULD NOT DRAIN, JUST BLINK
Switch was not the same switch as what was in the unit, similar but switch was normally closed instead of open, so had to take the switch apart and change sides with the contacts! should be the same, but was not, so in the end worked fine after an adjustment!

Dishwasher would not turn on
Shut off the electricity to the dishwasher. I removed all 11 screws from the door panel. After separating the 2 door panels, I removed the 2 door switches from the door handle ( I used a flat head screw driver to help get them out). Then I unplugged the 2 switches and plugged in the new ones. I replaced the door switches into the door handle ( this was not an exact fit because the new switches is slightly larger than the old ones). I put the new switches in place as tight as I could in the handle. I screwed the 2 screws holding the handle first to secure it before I put all the other screws in the door panel. I turned the electricity to the dishwasher back on. Our dishwasher has been working perfect ever since then and it is over 10 years old.

My dishwasher began not starting sometimes. Sometimes i press the button and it would start and sometimes it wouldn't. Slowly it has gotten worse and now it won't turn on at all. I suspect either the latch or the door switch is bad but have not checked yet. Would you agree or suspect something else?

Hi Terry, Thank you for your inquiry. If your dishwasher is not starting, the door handle and latch assembly with switches will fix the issue. Some other parts you will need to look at are the electronic control board, the control panel, the seal and chopper kit, the float switch kit, the wash impeller, the motor capacitor and the door strike. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My dishwasher wont start. All of the buttons on the control panel will light up when pressed except for the start button. Upon investigation i found the button to be worn and the door latch to be broken. I replaced the button panel and the door latch assembly including new switches and the machine has the same no start condition. What do you recommend?

Hello Paul, thank you for your question. If the control panel, and latch have been replaced the only other part it could be is the Electronic Control Part Number: PS11750577. I would recommend replacing that part. I hope this helps!

Hello The door handle on my dishwasher had broken so I ordered a new door handle assembly with switches. I installed the new handle and when I went to start it, i pressed the start button and 81 came on, that's the number of minutes it will run. I heard a little bit of water then it stops and goes to 80. Then after around a minute it shuts off. Any suggestions?

Hi Joe, Thank you for the question. Sounds like it is not advancing through the cycles. The cycle timer is built into the control board for this model number and the board will need to be tested for continuity or replaced. PartSelect Number PS2004004. Hope this helps!

Unable to remove wire connection from door switch.
For model number MDB6759AWS1

Hello Ed, thank you for your question. The wire connectors should pull off the micro-switch. You can use needle nose pliers to help if needed. If they will not come off, you will have to cut the connector off the wire, replace the switch and get a new connector to attach to the wire so the wire can be connected to the switch again. I hope this helps!
