The Timer wore out.
Removal of the old timer was easy. I unplugged the washer first. Rather use the self taping screws supplied I tapped the two mounting holes and used my old screws. After the machine was reassembled I plugged in the washer and tested the install. The washer did not work and I was a bit upset. HOWEVER upon checking my electrical panel I discovered the circuit breaker needed to be reset. The washer works perfectly. Thank you One tip: In order to get the knob apart I used needle nose pliers to grab the exposed shaft on the back of the timer. I did it again to reassemble the knob as well.

Kitchenaide,...
will not advance from wash cycle,...do I need a new timer?
( Replaced drain pump today and it didn't correct the problem )
For model number KAWE777BWHO
HI Kurt,
Thank you for your question. If the timer is not advancing, there may be an issue with the lid switch. This part fixes the issue the majority of the time. From our website, the lid switch supplies power to the timer and motor circuits. Unplug your washing machine. Remove the cabinet or top panel and locate the lid switch. After finding the switch, begin by ensuring that no levers or actuators are damaged or sticking and that the switch is being activated mechanically when the lid is closed. If no issues are found when performing the above checks, remove the switch and set your multimeter to the Rx1 setting. While pressing and holding the switch button, place the probes on the switch’s terminals. You should receive a reading of zero. If you receive a different reading, you will need a replacement lid switch. If the lid switch is not causing the issue, you will need to check the lid strike, the timer knob, the timer, the direct drive motor coupling and the water inlet valve. We hope this helps!
