Heat food with foil the bottom on the microwave is not working
For model number RVM1535DM2BB
PartSelect logo
Hello Stephen thank you for your question. There are a few parts we would recommend testing if there is no heat. They are the Line Fuse Part Number: WB27X10388, Diode Part Number: WB27X10597, and the door switches which are Secondary Door Switch Part Number: WB24X829 and Monitor Door Switch Part Number: WB24X830. If those parts are tested and are fine, the issue could be with the thermostats. I hope this helps!

One of my kids attempted to cook noodles without water in the microwave for several minutes. It still works but even after steaming vinegar and leaving baking soda inside for 24 hours, it still has a lingering burnt smell that gets worse when in use. What can i do to get rid of the smell?
For model number RVM1535DM2BB
PartSelect logo
Hi Aja, Thank you for your question. To remove the burnt smell from your microwave, place 1 cup of water in a microwave safe container and add some lemon juice to it. Microwave on high for 5 minutes. Also, you can squeeze lemon juice onto a plate and place the lemon halves on the same plate. Place it in the microwave for 5 minutes. Once the cycle is complete, remove the items from the microwave and wipe the inside with a paper towel. We hope this helps! If you have any questions, please let us know.

The turn table starts turning as soon as I open the door, although the unit is off. Is this a normal feature?
For model number RVM1535DM2BB
PartSelect logo
Hi Mary, thank you for your inquiry. Based on our understanding, the issue is because of the door interlock switch, part number PS237422. The door interlock switch prevents the microwave from starting when the door is open. We would recommend checking the door interlock switch to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

Microwave completely stopped working
Turned out the issue was easily solved by replacing a single, inexpensive fuse.

First off, UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE.

The fuse is located under the plastic grill at the top of the microwave. It's held on by two screws. Once you've removed the screws and taken off the plastic grill, you go to the right side of the microwave and remove another screw that holds a small metal grill in place. Removing the small metal grill is probably the toughest part of this repair. You kind of have to rock it back and forth a bit to get it to release. Once that's off, you can get to the fuse. I removed the burnt out one with a pair of needle nose pliers. I also put a small piece of cardboard under the fuse when I did this so I didn't accidentally drop it into the innards of the microwave. I did the same thing when I replaced the new fuse. I then plugged the appliance back in and made sure it worked. Once that was confirmed, I replaced both grills.

A Cooking Tray developing a growing crack
The unbelievable happened. Our glass carousel cooking tray developed a crack. Each day the crack got longer. I ordered a new one on Tuesday and it arrived the next morning just before the cracked one completely cracked. I have never experienced such fast service. I highly recommend PartSelect and their helpful service.
