Left front burner eye red 'on light' flickers when on and eye comes on very hot even when turned to med or low then recedes to low or off. Temp level very erratic regardless of temp selected. Is eye burning out or temp control an issue? other?

Hello and thank you for writing.
It certainly sounds like it could be a faulty high limit thermostat PS11747248 and/or possibly a faulty temperature sensor PS11748765, you should check the part(s) for signs of damage, and replace as necessary. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.
Hello John, thank you for writing. It does sound like a temperature sensor issue. Measure the oven temperature sensor resistance using a volt/ohm meter. If the resistance isn’t 1080 ohms at room temperature (70 degrees F), replace the oven temperature sensor. If the oven temperature sensor resistance and wire harness connections are okay, replace the electronic oven control (EOC). Hope this helps!

Something Kitchen Aid wont tell you but running a self clean on this model stove blows the fuse located on the back of the stove.
First I slid the stove out and removed the back of the stove held in place by 8 Phillips screws. The thermostat fuse is located near the top middle on the back of the stove. Remove the 2 screws holding it in place. Disconnect the wires, plug in the new part. Put it all back together. Job done in less than 30 minutes.
This repair would have cost $164 through A&E factory service.
