Large burner cap has stain that doesn't come off with soap & water.
For model number KCGD506GSS00
Hello Bill, thank you for your inquiry. In order to remove the stain from the burner cap, follow the following steps:
Make a paste with bicarbonate of soda and a splash of water.
Apply the paste to the burner caps, using either your finger or an old toothbrush.
Leave the paste to work its magic for half an hour.
Gently scrub the paste away, using a soft cloth or your old toothbrush.
Rinse them well under clear running water, then allow to air dry naturally.
You should notice a beautiful sparkly finish to your burner caps after this.
If this doesn't help, then you can replace the surface burner cap. The burner cap does not come separately. You may need to order a burner cap kit, part number PS12728573, to fix the issue. Glad to be of assistance!

First step is to turn gas off to cook top and also disconnect power to the unit. Than using a crescent wrench disconnect the gas line going to the unit from the Regulator. Than again using the crescent wrench disconnect the regulator from the bottom of the unit. Next remove the nipple that connects the gas line to the regulator from the old unit. Apply new pipe dope to the threads and screw it into the new one and tighten down. Next install the regulator to the unit and install the gas line to the regulator. once done with the install you can now plug the unit in and turn on the gas. You are now ready to use the cook top again
