Wont spin and drain
For model number GTW460BMK0WW
Hi Trudie,
Thank you for your question. If the washer is not spinning or draining, you may have either a clogged drain pump or there is an issue with the lid lock. You will need to inspect the pump for any clogs and you will need to test both parts with a multi-meter to see which one is causing the issue. To check the lid lock, unplug your appliance before beginning. Locate the lid lock on your appliance. Remove any parts of the cabinet you need to in order to have full access to it. Verify that the lock is being operated mechanically, you should also inspect the levers and actuators to ensure they are not damaged or sticking. If it is being operated mechanically and no issues were found with the levers or actuators, remove the lock from the appliance, set your multi-meter to Rx1, and touch the probes to the terminals. You are testing for continuity and should receive a reading of zero. If your test results do not match those above, you will need a replacement lid switch. As with the lid lock, before inspecting it, make sure that you have unplugged the washing machine. Do an inspection of the washer to see if there are clogs inside the pump and check it for any signs of damage. If you do not see any signs of damage or clogs, you will need to check it with a multi-meter. If the pump is working correctly, you should receive a reading between 5 and 10 ohms. If you get a reading of zero or infinity, the pump will have to be replaced. If you are not familiar with how to use a multi-meter here is a link to one of videos from YouTube that you may reference for more information, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.

Hi. My machine when you do a speed wash, it does a full cycle. It works. When you put a light, regular load or a heavier load in, it starts to fill, then after a few seconds, it stops, then makes noises as if it is trying to fill. Any suggestions?

Hi Bill, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the Water Inlet Valve, part number PS12069194, needs to be checked to fix the issue. We hope this helps! If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Thanks again for your great question.
Hi Lonci, thank you for reaching out. You need to remove the back panel of the washer If the hose is connected inside the washer. Then remove the retainer clip from the hose with the help of pliers or a screwdriver. Now install a new drain hose and insert the retainer clip back to fix it properly. In some models, the drain hose is attached outside the washer, in this case, no need to open the back panel. You can get access directly to the drain hose. We hope this information is useful!
