The large front element (on the left, facing the stove) goes red hot. I will be using that element at setting 3 through 6, when suddenly it goes red hot. Adjusting the dial makes no difference. Thankfully it will shut off! It is not a coil element issue, as switched the elements and the problem continues. It now happens with every use. And i use the stove everyday. I thought it might be a module controlling that specific element, as the other elements do not go red hot when being used.

Hi JL,
Thank you for your question. If you have the element on a lower setting and it goes to higher setting on its own, then the issue is the burner switch. The part number listed under your model number for the large burner switch is PS11740783. If you would like to place an order for it, you may order it either online or by calling our customer service line and anyone will be happy to assist you. We hope this helps!
