How do you change the light bulb that illuminates the food while cooking; that is within the microwave?
For model number FMV156DCC
Hello Marcie and thanks for writing.
Take off the vent across the top (three long screws) to expose a single screw over the keypad.
Remove the single screw, and the whole keypad consile will lift up and off, likely hanging by a plastic tab/support on the bottom.
Now you can twist the light bulb plug to remove it from the support structure, change the bulb, and replace all that you've done.

How to replace the interior light bulb? Does the microwave need to be removed for access?

Hello Steve, Thank you for the question. To access the light bulb, you will need to remove the outer cover of the microwave. The bulb is on the top of the inside of the microwave. The microwave will need to be removed. Thank you for your inquiry, good luck with this repair!

How do I replace the bulb that lights the interior? What bulb do I need? Thanks

Hello Dennis, Thank you for contacting us. We have researched the model you have provided and have found the part you are looking for is PartSelect Number PS979525. You will need to unplug the microwave while performing this repair. Microwaves continue to have an electrical charge directly after being unplugged, so please use caution. To access the light bulb, you will need to remove the outer cover surrounding the bulb on the top of the inside of the microwave. We hope this helps!

My model #fgmv174kfa microwave oven and manufactured date 7/2009, is a Frigidaire gallery. Is this model and date have the same components to earlier questions about changing the inside of the light bulb, you must 1st remove the very top of the vent and then the keypad console? Also, I have a 25 watt bulb, will this work or is it too much wattage?
