Freezer Gasket was torn in some spots, freezer had condensation inside and could not maintain zero degree temperature.
Ordered gasket. Laid out gasket near sunlit window untangled and flat on carpet for 24 hours to insure it was pilable and correct shape. Removed the old gasket manually easily without any tools and cleaned the door's seal groove with a paper towel slightly soaked with Simply Green. Installed new gasket starting at the upper corners then inserting upper edge by tilting the gasket toward the inside of the door with my fingers. Then installed the lower corners along with the bottom edge. Proceeded installing the side edge working from the set corners inserting the gasket's inner tongue into the door groove with my fingers again tilting the gasket inside the door. Once the gasket was installed, I closed the door and guided my fingers along the gasket to insure the magnetic edge formed a firm seal. This is wear the DIY videos suggested applying petroleum jelly but I did not need it since the gasket was pliable enough. Overall, the effort took 15 minutes because I think laying out the gasket for 24 hours allowed it to settle into its desired form..

Hi Juan, thank you for your question. You would press a flap on the gasket into the groove on your door to install this part. This video here may help you with the installation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuE_gu0CuK8. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

I am having problems with the ice melting into a clump. Every thing else seems to be frozen properly, could this be a door seal issue?
For model number PSS26MSTD SS
PartSelect logo
Hello Randal, thank you for inquiring. Replacing this Freezer Door Gasket part number PS8758486 for your model may fix the issue, but it is more likely due to a faulty Temperature Sensor, part number PS304103 that is making the freezer a little too warm. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!

Freezer door not latching properly. Gasket is lacking suction causing frost build up on the food. Can you please confirm the gasket serial number that I need to get? Also, do you have to dis-mental the freezer door to install it. My freezer is full of food. Thank you,Ola
For model number GSE26HMEBHES
PartSelect logo
Hello Ola, thank you for contacting us. The freezer door gasket, part number PS8758486, is compatible with your model. Replacing the gasket doesn't require removing the door. You will need to open the freezer door, peel the old gasket off in one spot, insert the flood disco driver, and start prying it out from that spot. Continue peeling the gasket off. Install the new gasket starting at the upper corners, then insert the upper edge by tilting the gasket towards the inside of the door with your fingers. Then install the lower corners along with the bottom edge. Proceeded to install the side edge, working from the set corners, and inserting the gasket's inner tongue into the door groove. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Is the freezer gasket piece the same as the refrigerator seal that goes around the inside of the door. We are having troubles with the refrigerator closing properly from that black seal inside. It is throwing the temps off making the freezer colder and the refrigerator hotter. This part says freezer door gasket but i am looking for the refrigerator black inside seal that seals the door when closed.
For model number GSS25GSHGCSS

Hi Stephanie, thank you for your question. Your freezer gasket and fridge gasket are two different parts. I have linked the part information for the fridge gasket down below for you. You may need to replace your freezer gasket if it has warped and is now giving you trouble with closing the door. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
