Dishwasher would not drain
**** A stubby Philips screw driver will save you a lot of headache taking the two retaining screws out that hold the drain pump assembly to the hanging bracket *** An inspection mirror was also helpful trying to locate these screws.

I thought the pump impeller vane was possibly broken because the pump would not drain the dishwasher but it would energize and make a loud clicking/rumbling noise.

1) Drain water from the dishwasher. I used a piece of tubing and siphoned the water out. Remove front cover plate.

2) Turn off breaker and dsconnect two wires going into pump.

3) Remove the pump inlet. I kept the 4" rubber jumper piece attached when I took the pump out.

4) I had to disconnect the wash water feed line to be able to reach the hose clamp on the pump outlet.

5) Loosen hose clamp on the pump outlet if you can reach it, otherwise remove the two screws that hold the drain pump assembly in. There is one screw on each side of the pump. I used an inspection mirror to see the screws. I had to use a stubby Philips head screw driver to take the screws out.

6) Wrangle the drain section out and finish taking off the pump outlet hose clamp. Install new pump and work backwards to put it together.

When I pulled the pump out I found the impeller to be complete (not broken as I had thought) and I saw it had two small steel balls that sat in grooves. I think the two balls and groove act as a safety detent and disengage the pump if something big gets sucked in. I pushed down on the impeller and everything snapped together nicely. Since I already ordered a new pump and I had everything taken apart already I installed the new one but I think I could have just used the old one.

Hope this is helpful to someone else. Washer has worked fine since.

Diswasher would not drain with a staticky sound.
Pulled the dishwasher out and laid it on its back. From under the dishwasher I unscrewed three screws and freed the drain pump from some sort of frame. Then with the pliers loosed the orange clamp that held the black hose to it. Then unscrewed the clamp that held the white hose to it. Then pulled out the purple and white fuse wires. These wires were very tight I used pliers to get them off. The pump was free. Be sure to have a bowl to catch all the water. There wasn't a lot but it stinks. Then put it all together the way I took it apart. The dishwasher works perfectly now.

Dishwasher wouldn't drain!
I already had the dishwasher pulled out (remove the two screws from under the counter holding the dishwasher in place) The drain was located on the right side at the bottom very easily removed after taking out the two screws and removing the tubing. Attached the tubing to the new drain pump, made sure clamps were in place and then screwed the screws back in to hold the drain pump into the bracket. Ran the dishwasher once before pushing it back in to make sure there were no leaks. Had a leak but completely unrelated to the drain pump.....I had to replace the hot water supply line the next day, also SUPER EASY. Pushed dishwasher back in and replaced the two screws into the brackets that hold the dishwasher in. Kind of disappointed that I had to replace these things since the dishwasher is just over a year old, but PartSelect made finding the part super easy and they were by far the BEST PRICE! Thanks again! Only suggestion is I wish that it would have come with directions...but I figured it out pretty well!

dish washer would not drain.
I pulled out the internal filter and assorted washer parts. All in good shape. I bailed out the washer and removed the pump assembly from under the washer. I pulled it apart to inspect impeller. all looked fine. Plugged pump in and turned on pump cycle. Pump did not operate as it should have and I ordered new pump. My daughter put it back together and all is working well now!

The relatively new Frigidaire (Electrolux) dishwasher would not drain the water out of the base of the washer. The pump impeller assembly was making a "rattling" sound and wasn't pumping
I ordered the replacement pump from Partselect and it arrived 3 days later. The new pump went in very simply with two mounting screws (don't over tighten!!) and the two hose claps for intake and discharge. It works perfectly!

Dishwasher would not drain
replaced the motor after fixing the impeller once before. seems to be a weakness in this model based on what I've read here. The motor does not fail it's the little impeller inside the housing that comes apart. One word of advice: use a wet/dry shop vac to extract the standing water from the dishwasher.

Lately the glasses and stainless steel bowls have a white cloudy deposit on them...like the rinse water is dirty or something...silver ware comes out the same way...deposits of white on them. any suggestions?
For model number FDB1050RECO

Hello Maureen, thank you for inquiring. This can be caused by phosphate-free dishwasher detergent, or by using too much detergent. You may also want to consider replacing the Lower Spray Arm, part number PS1524955 for your model. Good luck with your repair!

Water pumps out but water comes back in
For model number FDB 105 o r e c o

Hi Victor, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the float and the float switch to see if they are stuck in the open position. If so the water can fill back into the tub after draining.Hope this helps!

Once the wash cycle is started the is no water entering the washer. What could be the cause?
For model number FDB1050REM2
PartSelect logo
Hi Tim, Thank you for your question. If your dishwasher will not fill with water, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. We recommend checking the water inlet valve, the float, the float switch and the door switch. We have included a link from our website that you may reference on how to check these parts. Once you have determined the part you need, please call customer service. We look forward to hearing from you!
