Drum loose, causing high pitch noise.
First use a vacum to remove all the dust and lint inside the dryer fraim
Some problims removing old rear drum bearing assembly. Also removing old drum guide bottom Adhesive. I used a new wire brush, but if I had a brush that fit a drill this would have been better to remove the adhesive.
I then applied the Glue, drum seal and small clamps to hold in place so the glue could dry overnight the next day 30 mins and the dryer was back togeather.
1.Remove 2 screws and the air intake grill on the back of the unit. remove the drive belt. 2. Remove 2 screws on rear of top, slide top back and remove. 3. Remove 2 screws about a foot down on the inside on each side of the front cover. Remove four screws that secure the plastic control panel and the front panel that are right behind the control panel on the top. Disconnect the wiring harnesses, cut the nylon wire tie that is closest to the front cover. 3. lay unit on its back and and remove the two screws on the lower edge of the front panel, take your putty knife and slide it in the gap between the front panel and the dryer cabinet and release the two spring clips on both sides. Then you can lift off the front panel and control panel, set it to the side. 4. Remove the screw and the nylon guide from the center of the top front case crossmember. Remove the three screws on the inside rear of the drum, lift out the drum and set aside. 5. The drum pivot just sits in a nylon socket, pop it toward the top of the machine and lift it out, you may want to clean it good and re-lubricate it on reassembly. Disconnect the wires from the heating element and the heat sensor. 6. Set the cabinet upright and remove the four screws on the back side of the rear of the cabinet but not the two that are right in the center, they hold the pivot fixture and don't need to come out. The heater coil pan is now loose and ready for removal. 7. The seal between the filter housing and the blower housing was torn and this is an important part to have right, any air leak here will do the same thing as a dirty lint filter or plugged dryer exhaust and your new heating element will have a short, hot life. I pulled the old one off, scrapped the old glue off, applied the adhesive like the instructions on the tube say and after a few minutes installed the new seal then set the front panel to the side to let the adhesive dry. 8. The reassembly is just the reverse of the disassembly , use a couple nails or awls to help hold the dryer heater pan in place for screw installation and you might want to gentle squeeze the wire connecters if they feel loose, also check for clogged or kinked exhaust and stress the importance of cleaning the lint filter after EVERY load, it is small and all the air that cools the heating element must go through it, if is isn't maintained your new element won't last long. Have fun!
First I removed the top of dryer by prying upwards with a screw driver to pop the clips that hold it in place, the second thing I done was to remove to screws that held the front of dryer in place, these screws are located in side the cover half way down.once tha twas completed I remove the front and took it out side where I used a wire brush to remove the old felt at least what was left.onced cleaned I applied the new felt using the supplied high temp glue and then used clothes pins to clamp the felt in place and left sit over night .next morning I installed with ease and all was fixed. NO MORE NOISE:)
Drum Bearing Guides Worn through - general rebuild
Removed two screws on bottom of front panel. Lifted bottom of front panel, it then it dropped down and was moved to the left side. Removed 4 socket screws and removed drum front cover. Replaced felt strip, removed belt and replaced. Replaced two idler pulleys in back. Removed blower housing front cover, removed blower wheel and replaced. Installed front drum glides after drilling out rivets from the old glides. Vacuumed entire inside thoroughly and reassembled.
Main problem was the bearing, replaced the belt and felt seal as well The video instruction was very helpful Was easy with basic mechanical aptitude Dryer running great now All parts from Partselect.com Have ordered from them before and would order from them again

The original seal was worn out so much so that it kept burning out my motor two Motors two years
I purchase one tube of heat resistant adhesive but I change both seals if you could afford to buy a second to I would recommend you do so the one tube just made it. For instructions on how to prepare the drum for installing new seals I went on YouTube
Lots of noise from the drum scraping inside front of dryer and clothes being pinched.
First you need two people to get dryer to a location with plenty of elbow room. Then we just followed the instructions on the parts page. At our residence we take the dryer apart at least once a year to give it a good cleaning. During the year lots of dust accumulates inside the dryer box. This time upper and lower felt needed replacing; it is an easy fix just remove the old parts and install new the ones. Removing the old glue was the only slow down, but don't hurry this step you want a good clean surface to glue new felt on. While repairing the felt we discovered the insulation was cut away on one wire leading to the gas igniter. We repaired the wire and reassembled the dryer. We used the dryer the next day and discovered the wire harness was not reconnected. Another reason to have 4 hands and four eyes for this repair.

Will this adhesive cover putting on both the glide top portion and the lower felt? Is one ounce enough for both pieces? Cheers, mark
For model number FSG748GFS1
Hello Mark, thank you for your question. Yes, the High Temperature Adhesive 5308027429 should be enough to cover both the upper and lower felt pieces. The upper felt guide is not that long of a piece and you don't want to overuse the adhesive. Good luck with your repair!

I have this glue left over from replacing the felt on my dryer. My question is: Is this glue also waterproof? Could it be used to patch a small hole in my washing machine detergent dispenser drawer? The new part is not available and was over $200 a few years ago.
For model number FWT449GFS2
Hello Teresa,
Thank you for your question. We ca not confirm if the glue is waterproof, since it is only made to withstand extremely hot temperatures and nothing else. We hope this helps.

Could this glue work to fix the torn mesh on my dryer lint trap?
For model number PS474458
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your question. High temperature adhesive glue can be used to repair the screen on your lint filter. Let the glue dry completely before using the lint filter. If you have any questions, please let us know. We are open 7 days a week. We look forward to hearing from you!

Can this glue be used to reattach a panel on my stove?
Hi Pamela, thank you for your question. This high temperature adhesive is used for installing felt and rubber seals on dryers. So it is unlikely that it would be strong enough for you to be able to glue a panel back on your stove. You would likely have to replace whatever part is broken. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
