The Ice maker just stopped making ice
Kenmore Refrigerator

Turned off the water in the house because no dedicated valve to the refrigerator. Turned on the kitchen sink water to bleed off the water pressure.

Pulled refrigerator from wall and vacuumed up all the dust bunnies and cherrios for a clean work area.

Unplugged refrigerator.

Removed 4 screws that held on the rear cardboard panel.

Used 1/2" box end wrench to remove the water supply line form the valve and drained excess water into a bucket. Removed 2 more standard head screws from valve mounting bracket and pulled the valve unit out.

Detached the ice maker and water dispenser feed lines.

Labeled the 2 electric terminals (one purple and one green) and then disconnected them from the valve.

Installed new valve- had to cut a little piece off of water dispenser line from the valve because the new valve mounted without a nut on the end of it. (after market valve initially sent to me was incorrect due to web site error - but later got the correct one)

The after market valve has a different color on the solenoids (like an electric gate that allows water to go through on command). Despite the different color, the electric harness will only match up one way because the terminals are larger on one side.

The installation was fast and easy, however my icemaker is still not working.

I am guessing there is something wrong with the electrical somewhere else but replacing the valve probably fixes this problem most of the time

No water for ice maker and for water spout
Pull out the unit from the wall, Unplugged the frig, removed the lower cover panel. Remove 2 screws holding the water valve from the unit, then removed the 2 connectors that turn on the relays. Connected the connectors to the new valve, then replaced inside of unit and replaced the lower back panel cover, plugged it back in, then tested the water flow at the spout, and waitied for the ice maker to kick in. Worked perfectly.

Had water constantly leaking to ice maker and freezing up also water constantly dripping at water dispenser
I started by shutting off water supply and unplugged refrigerator. Then using a nutdriver removed back lower panel exposing the dual inlet water valve on the left side which was held in place with one bolt. After unbolting the valve you can pull the entire assembly out enough to remove the three water connections. The instructions suggest cutting of about 1/2" off of the two discharge lines to provide a better connection to the new valve. The entire process was very simple. The price of the part was a small fraction of the new refrigerator my wife was threatening to buy if I did not get her ice maker working again. Thanks for another great repair experience!

Water was dispensing slowly through water line.
I followed all the usual suggestions about changing the water filter and disconnecting the exterior copper line and testing it to make sure flow was steady. I then got ambitious and diconnected and tested the flow of water through each of the refrigerator's interior valves. Isolating my problem inside the dual valve that regulates feed into the water dispenser and icemaker I was able to clear out the blockage with a small dustbuster air cannister but reassmbling the valves somehow caused the valve to no longer function right so I ordered a replacement valve and had it all reconnected in five minutes once the part arrived. A simple repair to avoid a very costly replacement! Partselect has now been used by me to repair my oven, refrigerator (twice) and microwave. A pretty good alternative to replacing an appliance if you are willing to try your own repair.

water dispenser pressure very low
I order part # PS429001 dual inlet water valve located in bottom left corner of refridge on monday it arrived nest day.I then shut off water source and disconnected refridge.
I removed back bottom panel { 5screws} and then i removed
water valve {1 screw} I unplugged electrical wires and water feed lines from valve. You have to pull hard on feed lines to remove. I installed new valve, connected wires,
i had to clip off about 1/2" of feed line ends for a tighter fit on new valve. I reinstalled back panel. I plugged in refridge turned on water, and presto i'm getting
fast water again from the dispenser. P.S. I also took the time to vacumm around compressor and fan.
thanks PARTSELECT.

Ice Maker Froze Up / Water Dripping From Door
Turned off water and unplugged refrigerator. Removed rear cardboard pannel. Removed screw holding valve, unscrewed water lines, disconnected wires. Drained excess water into cup. Reinstalled lines on new valve. Reconnected wires. Installed into place. Reinstalled cover. Done. Wasn't sure if this was the problem but narrowed it down to a few things. Valve wasn't closing all of the way allowing water to continue to drip into ice maker and out door. Works perfectly. Oreder on Sunday received by Tuesday. No complaints for PartsSelect.

Ice maker not making ice
Found that that ice maker was working mechanically and electrically but was not receiving water to the ice maker. I found that the dual solenoid valve was not sending water to the ice maker when I asked for water so I ordered a new dual solenoid and this fixed the problem, however I also found the water feed tube was frozen and had to take it off an thaw it out. Now the ice maker and water dispenser is working great.

Ice maker and water dispenser was extremely slow despite new filter
The part’s picture on the site was not identical to the part delivered, but the function was essentially the same. It had different connectors to the outgoing tubes and a slightly different method of attachment to the refrigerator (it required 1 additional skew - not included). After verifying the part would still work, I shut off the water. Then I disconnected the two outgoing tubes. Made sure I had bucket handy to handle excess water. Then I removed the part using an adjustable wrench (1 screw) and then detached the incoming tube. Attached the incoming tube to the new part and then remounted (2 screws). And then I attached the two outgoing tubes and turned on the water. It works great and I have no plumbing experience.

Ice was being made slowly and the water through the door would not flow.
Jonnine's husband did the repair - At first, I was stumped on the cause of the problem because I thought because I did get some ice, the pump (valve) must be working. But after pulling the dust cover back off the bottom of the fridge, I removed the dual valve. I had my wife operate the switch in the door for water and I could tell that it wasn't activating the valve at all. Ordered the valve, took 30-45 minutes to put it on. Worked like a charm. Full ice bucket now and water through the door again. Easy install.
