Burn/rust marks on clothes
Like many others, i was suffering the problem of rust marks on clothes, which ruins them for good.

We have a Frigidaire Gallery dryer, gas, front loading stacked in top of the washer, which is about 7 or 8 years old.

Turns out the top felt seal was worn out, allowing clothes to get stuck between the drum and the door where they would get the rust colored stain. I think this is fairly common. It also "ate" zippers and buttons.

To open the dryer up, you first want to remove 2 screws at the bottom of the front panel, they are covered by little plastic plugs that pop out. Then, go in through the top- you have to pop the lid up from the front, and it swings up like a car hood. from the top, you have to reach in and undo a screw on each side that holds the front panel to the body of the dryer. it's a little tricky.

After those four screws are removed, the front panel is held on by pressure clips, which you can reach from the top and squeeze so they 'let go'. As those release, the front panel will fall outward with the bottom still attached- there are two small pieces of metal at the bottom that the panel sits in. So you lift the panel straight up to get them off those two guides/hooks, and it's clear.

Next you'll want to shop vac the heck out the whole dryer interior. Mine was caked with dust and lint.

Step two is felt replacement. you have to use some muscle to tear the felt off the top of the door opening, which will leave a bunch of ripped felt stuck to the high temp glue. That's where the wire brush and the Goof Off come in. That stuff worked like a charm to remove every last bit of felt and glue.

Once clean and dry, apply the glue that came with the felt guide, set the felt in place (with those plastic pieces facing up), and hold in place for a while. I used plastic clamps to hold the felt in place for about 30 minutes while the glue set.

For good measure, i also replaced the dryer belt and the plastic ball joint that the drum sits in, but i don't think that was necessary. The belt may be a good idea, and to do that you remove the belt by popping it off the little plastic wheel under the drum first, then it'll be loose and you can remove the belt and put a new one on. (This is also a little tricky, take it one step at a time.)

Then put it back together in reverse order and you'll be done with those rust marks.

(Mine is working great)

Two knobs cracked and I had to use pliers to turn on my dryer.
All I did was take the new knobs and put them on and my dryer was like new. The knobs were an exact fit. It took 3 minutes.

Dryer rotary plastic knob broke
This was really easy, the part is not identical to the one the dryer comes with however; it works just fine. I called the other places for repair knobs and they told me they had to have the serial number to get my part and the cost would be $20-$25 for the part plus shipping. Here it cost a whooping $13 with shipping included. I will never call those other places again!!

Every 2-3 years the knob that turns on my dryer breaks.
The best part of using this site the first time was that they had pictures and measurements of the part....it made me sure I wasnt ordering something that wouldn't work.

Its not a tough repair job, its broken a few times in the 8-9 years I've had it. I just order the part, it arrives promptly, I put in on...job done! I would use this site again anytime I need a part to something and have recommended it many times to friends and family.

To summarize.....it's just great when a process works so well and is so easy.

Door latch was broken plus 2 knobs
I removed 2 screws and put the new latch in. Put 2 knobs on. This save me almost $50 in parts and $120 in labor that the service man was going to charge. I received the parts in 2 days and the service man wasn't going to return for over a week leaving my washer out of service. What a difference! You service was great!

Dryer "start" know broke off
I bought part PS419092 (Rotary Knob) for my Firgidaire FDGB23RGS2 Dryer.

This knob I bought (PS419092) is much cheaper than the parts recommeneded for Frigidaire dryers ( knobs: PS417309 and PS416982 ). It is $6 instead of $18.

The only difference is that it (PS419092) is white instead of cream/off-white.

Putting the knob on was super easy and I'm glad I saved money by buying the less expensive part.

Start knob on dryer broke after 10 years
Turned the knob to Start dryer one time too many and the knob broke in pieces. Got tired of using a set of pliers to start the dryer so Google was my friend. The install was quick and easy even if trying to decide what know what knob matched it took a while. But it was a perfect match (I bought an extra in case the knob on the 10 year old washer decided to do the same thing). The price was nice, the delivery fast and now you will have repeat customer who will mention this site to their friends if they need parts.

Hello Julia, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, we do not have the measurements of the knob as the part is listed under your model number, and would be the exact replacement part for your unit and would be the same as the original. I hope this helps!
